That is saying a lot about Vodacom's opinion of Windows phones.

They are placing their bets on Android and iOS then.

Wonder if this is an industry-wide opinion?

Industry speculation is that Windows Phone's lack of USSD response support is keeping it from wider release in SA.

Wizzit uses USSD, as does a couple of industry players.

Will be a real problem if you rely on USSD codes, and your brand new phone doesn't do USSD.

USSD works... You just can't send replies to traverse menus or input PINs or anything.

So it doesnt work, is that what ure actually saying

Errr...ok. With rakabos on that. What is the point if you cant actually respond?

Anyway..I did a check and it seems pretty much the same phone. Looks almost the same...and only differences I can see is the screen is a bit bigger (but with worse dpi), got a bigger battery and has a front facing secondary cam. Thats about it. Not much difference as compared with the 800. Perhaps thats why.

The SA tech journos that hit CES and MWC this year all came back saying people should consider waiting for the Lumia 900 because of its front-facing camera and larger screen.

WTF?!?!?!?!
Noooooooo! Dammit, so I've been waiting for nothing.
Great, just great. I am NOT going back to Android and I really wanted that bigger screen on the 900. Oh well, guess it's 800 for me then.

meh to the 900
The 800 is nicer (Other than the front facing camera)

Well seeing that they have to almost pay the people over at AT&T to take them it might not be such a bad thing.

I think the lack of the front facing camera is the 800's only real big lacking feature....

I never use USSD so never even knew it didn't work.
