Hey Recently, decided to do the firmware update myslf took over 4 hours worth the time to do it.

After the firmware update noticed the phone starts up faster and the Navigation loaded in less than 20seconds than previously waiting nearly over 10-20mins for it to be up the satellite....

I'm glad was about to sell the phone but worth the keep now...
Now more frustrated like I use to be

I cant wait til they bring out the next update (apparently v13 will come out on the N95 8gb and we pleebs will then be able to get it.)

Still loving my N95 all the way.

Latest firmware for N95 is V12.0.014. It fixed the problem where you type a sms etc and the phone skips a letter or doesnt recognise when you type a letter. Can be annoying

The 12.0.014 is only released to the asian market. but you can change your product code of your phone so that the nokia update software picks it up as an asian phone. The prodocuct code for Singapore is “0536085″. Change it to that.

You need to download and install Nokia Software Updater and the Nemesis Service Suite before you proceed.

Fire up Nemesis Service Suite (http://www.b-phreaks.co.uk/software.htm) its the zip file at the bottom of the page. and click “Scan for new device”.
Click on the “Phone info” icon.
Click on “Scan”.
Change the product code to the one you want from the list found here.
Mark “Enable”.
Press “Write”. Your phone’s product code will be changed (you might think that nothing happened, because the phone is still in normal mode, and the changing of the product code only takes a couple of seconds, but don’t worry, the product code changed !).
Now run the Nokia Software Update and follow the on screen instructions.
Make sure not to touch the cable or the phone while your phone is updating or else you will break it!

I have already changed the product code to get rid of the Vodafone software (currently set to Europe)

Do you think the .014 software update is worth it?

AFAIK, the only thing newer in .o14 is support for more asian characters (text). And no functionality extras.

And it also fixes the problem of the phone "skipping" letters as you type eg sms or chat on it.
