I bought a Motorola bluetooth dongle, installed the latest PC Suite, but it's giving me k@k.

PC Suite detected the phone once (6820), but froze. Now it doesn't detect it anymore. I can use PC Suite to connect to the internet but nothing else.

In the connection manager it has Bluetooth (Microsoft) and Bluetooth (WIDCOMM). I tried selecting the WIDCOMM one but it tells me to check the drivers :(

Any ideas?

Thanks and spanks!

maybe try Bluesoleil or the software which came with the dongle? Works the best for me!

The software with the dongle will be either from Widcomm or Bluesoleil. If you have XP SP2 use the std MS bluetooth software. For older Windows versions you can use the widcomm software. Bluesoleil - yuck!

Also, you don't need the pc suite for internet access. The less software you install the best it will work. Download the correct modem driver from nokia's site and use only that instead of the full suite. If you need the additional functionality of pcsuite try "floAt's Mobile Agent" - brilliant open source app.

Ain't that the hellova thing? But, as good as it is:
FMA is a free1 powerful phone editing tool allowing users to easily manage all of the personal data stored in their phones, via a number of different connections methods. FMA allows easy management of Phonebook (both SIM and Phone memory), SMS, Profiles, and Files stored on the phone. FMA can also allow you to pickup and dial calls directly from your PC. FMA is fun and much more; whatever you want it to be, it is whatever a mobile phone should have :) (Currently based on Sony Ericsson T610 features set).

FMA - It's Magic!
Download latest FMA package and see by yourself. You could read about some user experience before doing that. Currently FMA supports officially Sony Ericsson phones only. Other manufacturers and brands will be addressed in next major version.
(my emphasis) ..it has at least one glaring flaw. :( ..still, there's hope in the forthcoming revision(s)!

Have you tried reinstalling the dongle software? Look on web for latest version

Oops! :p Did not know that. Go buy a SE phone!!:D
I've been spoilt by the sheer pleasure of many, many generations of Nokia's intelligent UI design; specifically their handling of SMS/'texting' ..something I do a great deal. And after the the shock, horror and despair of having been subjected to the vagaries of *shudder* Motorola (v547) and *gnash.wail* LG (S5200) I'm cagier than a street rat confronted with food that looks (too) good about committing to any other brand without first trying it.

PC Suite not loading once Bluetooth software installed

Installed the latest Nokia PC-suite...Nokia_PC_Suite_rel_6_86_9_3_eng_web.exe

Working perfectly with my 6110 Navigator.... only really use for syncing Notes calendar (yuck). Got tired of using USB cable so bought a no-name brand Bluetooth dongle.

It came with Widcomm sofware. Installed it with the supplied CD, and connection worked fine. Then I shut down PC and restarted.... and thats when the k@k started.

Got an error saying PCsync2.exe failed to load because connAPI.dll could not be found. Did some searching on the net and found a solution to copy this file from PC Connectivity Solution to System32 folder. PC Sync loaded and syncs perfectly.

However I cannot get PC Suite to load.. it does nothing when I try and load the app.... Weird thing is though that all the individual apps that PC Suite give a nice GUI to load and connect to the phone without issues.

Its rather annoying.... I've tried uninstalling PC Suite and reinstalling, but same problem....If all else fails I will try uninstall the Bluetooth drivers, and PC suite and start again... but hope there is a simpler solution.
