I've just found this interesting piece of software on the Nokia site

http://research.nokia.com/research/projects/SportsTracker/index.html

called Nokia Sports Tracker. Look like it could be of use to all the sporting types out there.

I'm a cyclist and I was hoping my new 6110 Navigator would be able to record a route as I rode, but the built in navigator software didn't seem to support this. This software does seem to do this, if you have a phone with built in GPS you can record your route with average speeds, total distance, etc.

I'll definitely be trying it out on my training ride this weekend.

Hi,

If you open the Navigator App, then go to "view", "route information", you can see you current speed, ave speed and time, distance, etc

Maybe thats what you were looking for - maybe not perfect for running or cycling, but it is something ;-)

I'm looking for an app for the phone that can leave a "bread crumb" trail, so that you can plot your route and navigate back along that route again, without a map (if you are offroad or hiking, etc).

Regards,
Greg

Nope, I was looking for a way to record the route that I had ridden, not just the current speed, position. (It's a bit dangerous looking at your phone while you're cycling :)

What this app lets you do is when you start riding press the record button, put the phone in your back pocket and start riding. Then when you're finished, press the stop button. Now you can download the route that you rode into Google maps or as an Excel file to see where you where flying downhill and struggling up hills.
