Hi all,

I'm new here and this is my first post hehe

Anyway, just got a Vodafone live Nokia 6680 on Family Top-up and I've managed to pair the phone to my PC via the connection utility on the Nokia suite. But if I try to open a website in IE eg. webmail.co.za, IE cannot seem to find the site. If i check my network status, it shows that the phone is sending packets but not receiving anything:confused:
I have added DNS servers for the connection as I thought it might be related.

What now?
Thanx in advance.

Try setting the extra initialization string for the modem.

When you go to your Device Manager in the Control Panel, open the Modem settings. There should be something like "Standard Modem over Bluetooth Link". Open the properties of this one.

Then go to the Advanced tab, it should show a textbox for an extra initiliazation string. Mine is currently set to the following:

AT+CGDCONT=,,"internet"<cr>

The "internet" part specifies that the DUN should use the internet APN to connect to the internet, and not the MMS of VLive APN.

Hope this helps!

Agree, the 6680 will be defaulting to the VLive APN. You need to use the internet APN.

I've tried the extra initialization string and it still does not work.
I have not downloaded any settings from vodacom though, I'm just using the original settings of vlive - the APNs i have is: vlive!, vlive!MMS, vodacom
I am using a cable to connect.
