bloody hell!!!

Just got off the phone with STUPID Telkom and I can't get STUPID ADSL 'cos the STUPID exchange doesn't have a STUPID copper port open [V]

So I guess I'm stuck with Sentech... argh!

Right... let the games... er... continue... :)

more like replace(kaipost, "STUPID", "F*CKING")

If you can do vb, then you'll love nix!

Sheeesh, you really lucked out there. And they fetched your modem. I got my ADSL installed today, but I have totally given up hope of them ever taking this piece of crap away.

I wouldn't re-enlist. Wait for iBurst or one of the other wirless services that will appear towards the beginning of next year.

Hell, my gran on a scooter with a memory stick is faster than Sentech's MyWireless!

Gouged, they haven't fetched my modem yet. i cancelled my cancellation earlier today. So I'll stick it out with Sentech until something else comes along...

Cancelled 2 weeks ago,

Still haven't heard a word from sucktech...they are examining my logs...they will find...no int bandwidth...dl'ing like a pig on local sites. Still want to cancel due to int bandwidth being non-existent.
Edit:[They didn't pick up Kai's modem]
Also hellkom are going to reduce prices on their data circuits...would love to know by how much?

that's my predicament - I ONLY surf and download international, nothing local... so they can actually take my local BW away and give it to someone else...

er... I mean...

ack! jinxed it.

It was fine-ish earlier this week, but tonite it's sloooooow again. FTP is uploading at a blistering 0.25KB/s [:(]

Yip, they've Fscked up Mintek. International speed at 06:30 (surely speeds should be stunning at this time) is a wopping 4.52KBps on a 256k package.

Since the topic is now about Mintek I'll add my bit to the conversation.
I got a slightly better performance last night...
BUT
running edonkey on a 300MB file that's been battling to finish for almost 2 weeks I saw some really strange spikes on the graph. Normally I would ignore excessive spikes lasting around a second as either bad data or data that got stuck somewhere and suddenly came through or an anomally in the graphing software.

Early this morning though I had several spikes lasting 15 seconds with a transfer of 1318785.2KB and 527259.3KB. I've got the screengrabs if someones interested. I know this must be impossible but I'd like to hear any ideas. Even if it's bits/sec and not bytes/sec it's still extreme. 1318785.2kbps would translate to 164.84815MB/s and 527259.3kbps translates to 65.907288MB/s
