North Korea targets South Africa with cyber attack

South Africa was one of 17 countries hit by North Korean attackers to raise money for its weapons of mass destruction programmes, the Associated Press reported.

According to articles from the Associated Press and Reuters, members of the press have seen a report prepared for the UN Security Council which has not yet been published.

The report stated that North Korea accessed bank infrastructure and employee computers to attack the SWIFT system, sending fraudulent messages and destroying evidence.
That is a serious allegation.

Wonder if Mimecast was also on their list of targets?

Had problems last week using it, and was informed that they were under attack.

BS North Korea has like 3 computers from the 90's

It was obviously someone in the CIA. Even I can pretend to be from another country online.

North Koreans obviously, do try & keep up.
I was about to suggest the exact same thing.
But Nigerians, Russians, Chinese, South Africans shouldn't be excluded. It's only Americans that meet the standard I hear. Or was that Aussies... Can't recall.

Reading the headline it sounds like it came from North Korea's government.
