A Klerksdorp man would appear in Rustenburg Magistrate's Court on Monday to face charges related to card cloning, North West police said.

Brigadier Thulani Ngubane said the Hawks arrested the 43-year-old on Thursday after he was seen interfering with people who were using an ATM.

"The suspect was arrested with a skimming device and several bank cards believed to have been cloned."

The man's home in Doringkruin, Klerksdorp, was searched and two laptops and a computer were seized. These and other equipment recovered from the house were sent for analysis.

"Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect was the owner of the plush property in Doringkruin as well as two luxury motor vehicles, one of which he was using at the time of his arrest," Ngubane said.

The man was unemployed and investigations would be made as to how he acquired these assets.
