I have a 3g internet contract with 8ta (10gig). The sim card is no giving an error that it's not valid. Went to East Rand Mall, they said I have to do a sim swop cause they having trouble with the sim card that I have. I'm refusing to pay for the sim swop as it is not my problem that the sim cards that they initially gave to customers are faulty. They then told me to phone the call center and ask them to assist me, which they couldn't. Call center told me to go back to East Rand Mall and talk to the manager, tried to phone, no one answers.

Indeed, a new sim costs R1. You are a bit unreasonable. Cut your nose to spite your face is very appropriate in this situation.

And welcome to the MyBB forums.

Actually you do pay for a swim swop depending on the branch you visit. Down the road from me a Telkom Direct store no charge, visited a Telkom Mobile store they wanted to charge me R10-25 for prepaid ,spoke to the manager and no charge for the sim swop. Also depends if the store is reaching their target as well.
