Got fibre (yay) but can't get a wireless connection to the router from my Samsung UA46ES6200R TV. It sees the router but can't establish a connection. My Google-fu is failing me on this.

It was able to connect to a previous router ok. Other devices connect fine to this router. I have updated the TV software (via USB) and restarted both the TV and the router. Have tried various networking options, nada. Router can handle 802.11b/g/n, which is what my old router did. Both on WPA/WPA2 and AES+TKIP.

Another weird thing - iPhone's not seeing any app store info. The phone connects fine to the router but the App Store app doesn't fetch any data. Not sure they're related, but it's suspicious. Router has a firewall set up, which could be what's nailing the phone, but that's not likely the TV's problem since it should be able to at least connect to the router even if ports to the 'net are blocked.

Any ideas?

(Edit. Of course restarting iPhone fixed the app store issue! So that's sorted)

I can't connect the TV to the router. The TV has connected to other routers. Other devices can connect to the router. Does anyone have any ideas as to what might be the cause of this?

You not at cp by chance. Did you try to update your TV

CP?

Yup, did update TV, via USB.

Tried WPS, tried via the password. Tried renaming the network to something shorter. Tried fixed IP (192.168.1.20). Tried simplifying the password. Tried changing 20mhz to 40mhz on the router. Tried WPA/WPA2. Nothing seems to work.

My old router is a Huawei B683. Will try using it as a bridge and see if that does anything, since the TV was able to connect to it previously.

Sounds like it might be forced to 802.11n and the TV doesn't support it or some such since you can see it.

Or it's using a channel that isn't supported, but then usually it doesn't show up at all. Worth a try anyway to make sure Channel isn't above 11.

This would only happen if your country was set wrong which would allow 12 and 13.

Thanks, am currently sorted using the wired setup. Samsung TV's seem to be notoriously fiddly over wifi - lots of Q&A out there about it.

Yeah even had mine replaced under warranty but I can't recall exactly what was wrong with it.

Might even have been the same thing.
