It is only racist if it excludes black people.
They are the ONE race in this country.
Everyone else is just living on their land and according to their will

Agggg... let him have his bookfair. There is no chance in hell I would ever have read, supported or even attended that s**t! We'll have our own segregated book fairs (but not call it as such)... just the way he wants it to be.

And he is right. Unless the masses of Black patrons boycott his festival due to the exclusion. The problem is, in SA this type of blackness is rewarded ;)

On the other hand do you seriously expect white people to travel there for a book festival? Guns N Roses, yes. Zakes Mda, hell no.
Trying to get Soweteans to a book fair is like trying to get Americans to a jogging convention... ain't gonna happen. Now if they start a suiping black label fair then I'm sure it would be a great hit in Soweto.
