Is the death rate and recovery rate not more important than the infection rate? Since we all get flu and colds and survive?
99.8% of us survive flu yes, currently it's 90% survive Corona.

Dammit Italy.

Romania confirms first case of coronavirus: health minister

BUCHAREST (Reuters) - Romania confirmed its first case of coronavirus in a man from the southern county of Gorj on Wednesday, Health Minister Victor Costache said.

The man had been in direct contact with an Italian citizen who traveled to Romania earlier this month,” Costache told reporters. “He is in a good condition and will be transferred to a Bucharest infectious hospital.”

Just keep in mind a few thousand Italians traveled to France last night to watch a football game as well.

With all the countries now reporting their first cases and then it starts climbing, its just a matter of time before this becomes a huge issue

It's been a huge issue for weeks, actually. We're just lucky that it seems like it's avoiding us. Probably only because once the virus enters SA, the government will tax it and someone will steal its luggage.

There are still people thinking it will blow over and nothing on a global crisis scale will happen, with every new country reporting cases that "care free" attitude will get tested

We have a guy here at work who thinks its just made up and a way for China to avoid taxes or avoid paying certain debts so they made up the virus to fool the world, now everyone with flu thinks they are going to die, sigh

In reality if this didn't blow up in China and cause a scare, would the 1 or 2 infected in other countries have even been a blip on the radar? Cause other coronaviruses have spread before and are more like a harsh cold.

Let's hope that the luggage thieves are the first casualties ...

First case in Estonia. An Iranian who who traveled from Riga (Latvia) via bus.

The first person infected with coronavirus was found in Estonia. This is an Iranian who arrived here yesterday

I have to say that this morning just came the information that the first infected person has been found in Estonia at the moment," said Kiik on Thursday in Terevision. According to him, the virus was detected on Wednesday when a person arrived in Estonia, according to the ERR news portal .

Kiik stated that he was an Iranian resident of Estonia and arrived by bus from Riga. According to the Minister, the passengers on the bus are currently being identified and contacted. The infected person is isolated and in hospital.

Delfi was confirmed by the Health Board that the first infected person had indeed been identified. Further information will be provided at a forthcoming press conference.

Yesterday, Delfi reported that at the beginning of the week, an Estonian in Northern Italy went to the emergency department of Pärnu Hospital, where he was taken to a Pärnu hospital for quarantine to undergo a coronavirus test. However, he had not been infected. One person from the same travel company is still in quarantine in another Estonian hospital. It is not yet clear which other patient is in the hospital.

In Europe, Italy is the main virus. The number of new coronary virus infections there rose to 400 yesterday, an increase of 25 percent in 24 hours. From Italy, the virus has spread to several European countries.

Italy and Iran teaming up to fvck Europe?

Errr, it's 12/14 deg C respectively today in Iran and Italy.
People traveling between different climates also have their immune systems impacted.
People tend to think of Iran is just desert, it's avg annual rainfall is actually higher than Australias and our avg as well.

"We estimated that 18,300 (95% confidence interval: 3770 to 53,470) COVID-19 cases would have had to occur in Iran, assuming an outbreak duration of 1.5 months in the country, in order to observe these three internationally exported cases reported at the time of writing"

Cases in South Korea are increasing rapidly.
505 new cases today vs 450 reported in China.

More reason not to believe the Chinese.
