It's been a huge issue for weeks, actually. We're just lucky that it seems like it's avoiding us. Probably only because once the virus enters SA, the government will tax it and someone will steal its luggage.
I'm starting to wonder if all of our medical staff know how to test for it properly

We look quite safe in the southernmost tip of Africa
But it may change when winter comes...

Oh, yes. The 27th is here, and no new COVID-19 cases have surfaced.

We cannot assume that it is not here while it is still frolicking outside there.

I'm now curious if people will decide to immigrate back to ZA just to escape Coronachan....

99.8% of us survive flu yes, currently it's 90% survive Corona.

90%?

My basic maths puts the death rate between 3% and 3.5%.
This is deduced from both Chinese official stats and unofficial stats as well as Italy's stats.

Thing is the virus' party piece is not the death rate, it's the 20% of people requiring hospitalization thus crippling the health sector.

What about the reinfections that are not included in the stats?

If true, then things are just getting better all the time.

Damn this virus. Perfect bio-weapon.

It really is.
Extremely easy to spread.
Hard to detect.
Kills mostly old and sickly people thus putting less strain on the economy in the long rung as government will not need to look after them.
Shuts down the economy (hopefully temporarily)
