And since also seen on Youtube, waiting for a link. Someone is now calling it fake, details still sketchy.

Just because it wasn't tested for or picked up, doesn't mean some poor bugger in some government hospital dying of pneumonia doesn't have it.

Even Melusi Gigaba's dick was exposed. Our government can't keep any secrets. If there were any cases the info would have leaked on Twitter already, followed by a claim the account was hacked.

Russia also not that badly affected...
Do you really believe that though? The far east of Russia has more ties to China than to Moscow, and I can guarantee that even if there were hundreds of cases, these would be covered up by Putin and co.

COVID-19 impact on sport comes closer to South Africa

Global sporting events are increasingly facing postponements and cancellations as COVID-19 spreads. The pandemic has had its first direct impact on South Africa and South African sportspeople this week.

COVID-19, was first encountered in Wuhan, China, in December 2019, and has gone on to affect over 80,000 people in 41 countries around the globe, causing over 2,700 deaths.

The Cape Town Cycle Tour, the largest timed cycling race in the world, confirmed that a group of riders from Italy, where there has been a severe outbreak of the virus, informed organisers that they would not travel to the event because of COVID-19.

The Cape Town Cycle Tour takes place on Sunday, 8 March.

“I can confirm the party from Italy cancelled specifically because of COVID-19,” Cape Town Cycle Tour organiser Dave Bellairs told Daily Maverick on Friday.

“It had to do with their insurance and the fact that they wouldn’t be covered if they travelled under these circumstances. That’s as much detail as I have on that.

“The guy who has cancelled has been bringing a group of Italian cyclists over here for the past five years. Two days before he cancelled he had sent me the list of the party’s names and documentation.

I was on a flight from Dubai yesterday and I heard some South African rugby player talking to another guy that they had had their matches cancelled for the next 2 weeks so he was flying to CT for a quick break.

Nothing like spreading it around hey :erm:

There NO reported cases in South Africa so we are cautioning against panic - by sending this letter which will cause panic.
Avoid uncooked meat ??

Avoid farm animals. Actually going to feed them on the weekend
Prefer taking my advise from vet friend who's been practicing for 30 years+

No, but between the far east of russia having very little english, that nobody wants to take the fall for the virus spreading (like what happened to the Wuhan officials), and as such would do anything within their power to suppress information, coupled with total control of mass media, I would not put it past things being kept very quiet.

I have chatted to a number of friends in Moscow and St. Petersburg and they are almost certain that there are cases in the far east (Vladivostok, Khabarovsk) etc.
