His 7 million Instagram followers, who now hopefully might be a bit more aware.

That's the fun part. Trump keeps telling America that there is nothing to worry about then the "Nations Sweetheart" gets infected  :X3:

Standard Bank still so archaic. Having to go on to pick up a card.
It was partly my mistake. They do have a delivery option, but I chose the collect from nearest branch because I am on study leave this week. Not much studying with this thread!

Went into Standard Bank yesterday to pick up a replacement card. They asked me to use a fingerprint reader about 4 or 5 times - right thumb, left thumb, confirm new password etc. When I asked whether we really should still be doing that in light of the coronavirus the consultant just laughed.

After that at a Caltex service station I was handed one of the dirtiest looking card machines I have ever seen, the numbers were almost illegible. No tap and go.

Long story short, the systems we have in place are ideal for the spread of the virus, and there is not enough time to change them.
So, did you just not touch your face after using the various machines, and then wash your hands properly? I mean in the same way you normally would. Why is this a difficult concept for people? If you practised proper hygiene before, this is normal, yeah?

At work they have disabled the biometric systems. We have to swipe our access cards and then place our index fingers on a scanner. No longer have to finger the scanner.

Since they used the post-it notes at my office, the doors are all permanently unlocked...

Am I the only one thinking social media and the media in general is making this thing bigger than it is?
Yes it is very dangerous but it seems like such an over reaction for the amount of people dying
( Says me that works from home:p)
But Mr Mila works for a multinational and many people has been sent home to work from home
They have been advised to work shifts. But they forget most people use public transport so if this is going to spread taxi's, buses and trains are going to be stopped.

Maybe I'ts just not close to home yet, but it all feels a bit hysterical.
What happens when you have a car accident and there are no Icu beds available becuase they're full of people with covid 19?
There are 26 high care and Icu beds at Sandton medi clinic.......

So I guess he is taking it serious now.

President Donald Trump on Wednesday imposed sweeping restrictions to prevent people from 26 European countries from travelling to the United States for a month as he responded to mounting pressure to take action against the spread of the coronavirus.

years ago I worked at an office that implemented bio metrics.
One of the staff had TB and HIV and had that strain that they just couldn't get rid off
I one day stood behind her and because she was basically dying the bio metrics just didn't want to pick her up, she would like her thumb and then try and lick again.

I refused to use that crap after that.:sick::sick::sick:

Explain this to me:

"South Africa has confirmed Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases as reported by the National Department
of Health. We do not need to panic, but follow the basic hygiene guidelines so that we can all
avoid being infected.
At this point, our priority remains prevention and there are two key areas of focus; personal hygiene
and travel.
Since the infection can be spread through eyes, nose and mouth, we will issue all employees with the PVC safety goggles to be worn constantly at work."

Yeah, I don't get it either.

All along if you handled dirty money or card machines or whatever, you washed your hands after. No suddenly it seems people are only walking up to the things their mom probably told them to do a million times growing up.

Seems companies are starting an elective work from home policy on the back of the COVID in SA
Quite a bit less people on the Gautrain this morning...I actually had a seat for once. No panic yet as people aren't wearing masks or anything on public transport.

But it's just the flu, like a miracle it will be gone ?

You ever noticed how there is a long queue at the bank but none at the restrooms?

You still touch a lot of things - the debit card, car door handle, steering wheel, phone etc. You would need the assistance of NICD to trace all the surfaces that you touched before you used wet wipes.

apparently, licking one's finger works, also touching area behind your ear...nice reservoir of oil and germs.

Could be. Or they could be dead.
