You say you avoid humans like the plague but what about your husband? Is he still coming home each day?
banned him to the spare room.
Lucky for me he is a bit if a germaphobe.
But yes I know.

Ironic i.e. after Trumps War on China.
China certainly aren't beneficiaries of this by any measure, and its arguably the worst thing that could have happened to China after the prolonged trade war with the USA.

The world has with this single event become acutely aware of their over dependence on China for everything; even worse China chose to shut down supply chains to prioritise its own needs over that of existing orders. In short this is not only going to push to the world to diversify the supply chain but also to secure certain critical supplies within their own borders or between key trusted trading partners (USA, Canada, Mexico, UK, Australia, ...)
I also can see that this would revive some of the debate around Huawei and 5G.

Okay I give up - what is the difference in the threat that the UK is excluded from the ban ?

There will be exemptions for Americans who have undergone appropriate screening,

Isn't it the other way around, where UK doesn't get these exemptions offered to Americans with appropriate screening?

I went to the doctor on Tuesday. Walked in, sat down, hand sanitizer. Got seen to, hand sanitizer. Walked out, hand sanitizer.
Home, soap and water.
For the first time ever I have no sickness. I used to always catch a cold 2 days after visiting that place.
What I did notice was that 40% of people were wearing those stupid ineffective surgical masks.
Most of which were entirely off (pushed below chin) or were worn incorrectly.

They're over the counter meds.
Just ask your local pharmacist (at e.g. Medirite, Dischem, Clicks, ...); they'll answer any of your questions; the rest is on the pamphlet in the box.

I don't suffer from any of the side effects, and neither do my family members or my friends. We for example have used e.g. Sudafed for scuba diving during the hay-fever season for more than 20 years -- in short it prevents any problems with either sinus squeeze or reverse eustachian tube blockages.

However I also use it at the onset of any flu symptoms; it basically reduces the inflammation of sinus blockages (i.e. prevents sinus headaches) and dries up any sinus drip i.e. no phlegm build up on your chest and hence no cough.
So you are NOT a doctor. I just asking so I could know whether to take your advice seriously or not.

Besides economic repercussions which are already severe we are likely looking at some significant geopolitical events. Governments in some countries will fall, new alliances will be forged, a new geopolitical landscape may even emerge in some regions or potentially globally.

Anyone here had a directive to avoid contact with customer's, postpone meetings where possible etc. ?

It's just business as usual at our company...

We got told on Monday that all international business trips are canceled and all non-local meetings must be VC.

Also there is now an official procedure that someone has to go through if they return from other countries (business or private) before they are allowed back at work.

Wonder how far off a vaccine is?

Looks like one is being fast tracked...

Iran's government, for one, is already heavily affected. Several other countries like Italy, France, and now the UK also are going to be affected politically if it is spread among their parliaments.
