Problem is many of those address the symptoms, not the cause - ephedrine and its family being a vasodilator, antihistamines suppress the immune system.
Incorrect application can be catastrophic. The most famous example being loius washkansky - after a successful heart transplant Chris Barnard assumed organ rejection was occurring and pumped him full of antihistamine. The man died. It was the onset of pneumonia happening and the antihistamines killed off his immune system that was trying to fight the pneumonia.
That's one of the reasons why they limit how much a single customer can purchase; and why the internal pamphlet includes dosage instructions. You don't need anything exotic to kill yourself; too much aspirin will do that for you, and that's on the shelf i.e. not behind the counter.
As for treating the symptoms; that's always the case with a virus.

Grant is a doctor, you shouldn't argue with him over this kind of thing. That's like me arguing with with @Papa Smurf over fluffing things.

Jesus the WhatsApp BS That goes around is amazing. My sister got this from some group of a group.

This is how people in Canada are informed.

....

Ask them for the source.

I actually wanted to post the Canadian goverments response. the info on there is thorough and really puts your mind at ease. Also note how far less people are panic buying over there.

So now all this talk of vitamins etc.. The most critical is protein when fighting infection.
Regular home things like peanut butter and eggs are loaded. ProNutro has about 20g protein per 100g serving.
Going a step further are products like Lifegain, which is similar to a multivit, but loaded with protein.
Going a step further for those with a weak or compromised immune system, something like Protifar, ramps things up quickly.

For those like chefdude, with a single cell immune system, have a blood test done, specifically for protein, albumin & prealbumin levels. It's a cheap and simple test.

To give an analagy, imagine a car going up a hill, it will need "x" amount of fuel to get to the top.
Now, add a trailer with a 1 ton load - the fuel consumption will be significantly higher.

Same applies with our body, "x" amount of protein is required to keep things going.
Introduce injury or infection and the demand increases. But there is only "x" amount to begin with - healing takes longer while the entire system is compromised due to insufficient protein delivery.

This is simple stuff, focus on the foundation and building blocks more than decoration and embellishments.

No, I'm not a doctor. By qualification a perfusionist (cardiovascular perfusion). My knowledge is limited to that area.

I had to google that, it's close enough. I bet it's much closer at least than plumber, or whatever else droid is.
