So it will burn anything except skin?50% H2O2 that will burn anything, it tickles on the skin though![]()
From the research, the overall effect in the broad population was about a 20% reduction in the chance of contracting an acute respiratory tract infection. Now that might mean that people are on average slightly deficient, especially if the research was based on subjects mainly in the northern hemisphere or cold climates, but since most people wouldn't know if they are deficient, and/or sit inside all day this is not something to thumb your nose at. In people who are very deficient, typically the elderly (the highest risk group), the benefit is a 70% reduction in the chances they would otherwise have of contracting an acute respiratory infection. Based on this I'd say it's pretty compelling that you should take vitamin D unless you're outdoors all day, and especially if you're older.Vitamin D supplementation only really provides benefit if you're deficient. If you live somewhere sunny that's fairly unlikely unless you never go outside with exposed skin. The gains for those who aren't deficient probably make no practical difference.

Netherlands, one of the countries that dragged arse while Italy was starting to spiral out of control;
Frikkin apartheid all over again ffsIt's a good antiseptic, but you'll be left with some white patches.
Going to be running out of hand sanitizer towards the end of this month so will be making my own with isopropyl and gel.has anyone made their own hand sanitzer?

hydrogen peroxide, which is added to reduce bacterial contamination of the sanitizer "and is not an active substance for hand antisepsis," the WHO says.
LOL. Usually those sanitizers are highly concentrated, so for like R50 you can make 50 litres of the stuff. Works out super cheap and everyone should be happy.
That reminds me, gotta pop by the HBS this afternoon. Need a few bottles of StarSan...
EDIT: I have to clarify that there are plenty of this stuff going around. Please don't go panic-buy this stuff. You can buy 5kg tubs of oxygen-based sanitizers for cheap, so be wise about it, my dudes. It's essentially Sodium percarbonate.
What many have been saying, but the noise around this pandemic is at a very high level, so most don't get the point.Not sure why everyone just concentrate on making sure they have sufficient soap and water at home like you are supposed to anyway.
What is all the fuss about hand sanitiser? Just wash your bloody hands.
So...
Did it work for the Iranians?Does methanol work? I have 20l in the garage...
Fun today, applied for police clearance. I feel unclean.
