wouldnt it be boring if we recieved our modems plugged them in... 100% signal strength, coverage ANYWHERE, no disconnects, unlimited bandwidth, gosh we would even forget we had something called mywireless, coz it was just THERE, like white bread. plugged in and ignored.

at least this way its like a soap opera, we make new friends on a forum called myadsl (?), we get to phone and abuse people on an 0860 number, we cant wait to get home to log on, maybe, and find out what is the latest in the bandwidth crisis, keep trying to reset our modems, patiently waiting for our god proasm to release the next mysignal, trying out all the rodents tweaks.... ive found a new hobby, SENTECH ROCKS, ive never had so much fun in my life.

indeed! i've made some good friends - but this is the wrong reasons to make friends.

we should be chatting about how happy we are with Sentech and all the cool stuff that we can do with our broadband connections... not b!tching and moaning about it...

Speaking of doing cool stuff with our Broadband, does anyone have any intresting sites to visit or cool files to download? That way when Sentech have fixed the 'problem' i can make up for 5 days of downtime by abusing my connection :)

The nights are getting long, cold and boring...

Bring on the drama. Internet without drama aint Internet!

I must say. Sentech's technology is probably the most interesting around at the moment, in terms of connectivity, and the fact that they're being watched with hawkeyes by the community just makes it all the more interesting.

yeah lewstherin, the new sony ericsson z1010 which will be available here in sa soon now has broadband instead of gprs, so me thinks it shouldnt be tooooo long, obviously all 3 cell networks cant handle that feature yet but im sure they planning for it.

anyone know any details about the new cell broadband? obviously 3g. if and when it happens i think the biggest fault will be costing, look at how the networks charge for current data rate. when gprs first came out and it was free on mtn during trial i used my phone as modem and surfed and downloaded like 10 gigs a month thru my phone, then they switched over and i didnt hear it wasnt free anymore and i got wacked with a 4 grand bill that month... dead serious, and i HAD to pay.

Whether Sentech knows it or not they are actually in a great position to challenge the cellular market with regard to mobile data connectivity. According the the IPWireless website the PCMCIA version of the modem is compatible with Pocket PC 2002. This means once Sentech have more coverage (and supply of the PCMCIA card) you could be anywhere and check your e-mail or surf the net without worrying about exorbitant costs.

can you with mywireless travel in a car from point A to B connected to your laptop and remain covered. dont think so coz you are logging onto one specific tower and when you leave its cover you will have to relog on to the next available tower, it wont just automatically hop you across, unlike my mtn gprs, i can be connected to net on laptop using phone as modem from jhb to capetown and remain connected the whole way....

Hehehe... one can only wonder about the "abusive behaviour" of some ... You'd better make sure you're outlook is not set to automatcially check for mail every 5 minutes ... it might be construed as abusive.
