From The Inquirer:

NTL SAID it will make 10Mb the standard cable broadband speed for its customers at no extra cost. But you may have to wait a while. And you may need a new modem.
It said in a statement that customers currently having 3Mb tariffs will be the first to be upgrade.

It will also make 10Mb its standard broadband speed in the future and will offer that with different caps as well as unlimited downloads.

It said 3Mb broadband customers will be upgraded by the end of the year and increase the cap from 30GB to 75GB a month.

Other customers may have to wait until the end of next year, said NTL. It has "no plans" to change monthly prices but some customers "will need to upgrade their modems".

It claimed customers signing up today will get their 10Mb "in the near future". µ

Don't be mad, rather think of this as a goal for us poor sods in South Africa to work towards. :D
