they not traceable. We investigated a guy with a scam electronics store, SA ELectronic mall or something I think. 7 RICA's . last belonging to some poor old lady in JHB. on the ping I think the last one was in botswana somewhere.... You'll spend more trying to track than anything else.

No, common sense would have saved you. How does anyone fall for any of these calls?
Truecaller has lost its value and is now just a private data mining engine.

In his defense they are getting very very convincing. that last I spoke of had a registered telkom line and premisses for a couple of years. Was even a sign above the door even though it was closed. My guess was the guy was never even really in the country. but he had a solid scam running.

Ja I suppose that some of us are just more attuned to these scams. Us old timers in Telkom were old hands at spotting these scams, finding them and setting traps to catch them and getting them locked up.
