Hi all,

I have a serious dilema here.

I want to upgrade my whole PC and am stuck on video cards. I need some help deciding here.

My main activities run on that PC are Win XP using visual studio/flash/fireworks and MS office. Obviously none graphics intensive.

My gaming is limited to WoW and AOE3, also not really graphics intensive.

The 7900GT is quite a bit faster and future proof then the 7600GT but is R1000 more.

Can any of you suggest reasons (assuming my PC usage wan't really change too much) why I should actually opt for the 7900GT and not get the cheaper 7600GT?

I doubt that when vista comes out, that even it with it's new interface will stress my graphics card too much.

Also I'm NOT getting a SLI mobo as I need the other PCI slots. The machine is going to be a 3.2Dual Core Intel and 2GB of ram.

Any ideas/suggestions appreciated.
Thanks

7600GT is my vote, I had to make the same decision about 2 months ago. Get that and in another 18-20 months get another mid range again, its the most bang for the buck.

I got the Gainward GeForce 7600GT Golden Sample, which is factory overclocked and its brilliant. www.take2.co.za <- buy it there

If you have the money for a 7900GT then go for that! Its better, much better than the 7600GT.

Simpel test I did was with Battlefied2 on my 7900GT and then same PC swop the 7600GT in and what do you know? It runs a lot smoother on high graphics!;)
