I.e. an LGE will be held for Ditsobotla. If the residents don't vote against the ANC now, they most likely never will...

This municipality has been marred with infighting among ANC councillors, which resulted in the municipality being run by two mayors, two speakers and two municipal managers from each slate.

I wonder if they all got a salary?

Let's hope they don't do that.
The premier wouldn't have disbanded the council and if he didn't think they'll just vote ANC again (you won't see the provincial government in GP do the same because there's a chance the ANC would lose properly). I'm not even sure what purpose the stunt serves as nothing stops the same group of councilors being elected right back in. And it is likely voters will just do the same - there is an opportunity there though for the opposition as turn out is likely to be very low.

That's the thing. This is a pristine opportunity for the UF.

If they can win the council, it'll give them a foothold in NW. And they can show what can be done to the voters of the province there. Like with uMngeni and others in KZN, if the UF shines there, it can only bring them more support and hammer the ANC more.
