How can a 15% price increase be justified these days for the 10/5 to a 15/15 move?

FNO's push the fees of their lower tiers up more because that's where a large portion of their subscriber base is and they want more people to be on the higher tiers, that's why you can see some of the higher tiers prices have dropped

Not much of an option unfortunately, this is what gets pushed to us from the FNO.

My monthly fee went down by R220 a month with this change, so it's benefiting those on higher speeds.

Yeah I'm 20/5 uncapped with MWEB and I'm perfectly happy with the speed.
I dont like the potential idea of having to pay more for a 30/30 bump.
I'd potentially have to downgrade to 15/15 to keep my monthly cost the same as it is now.....
Waiting on MWEB and their prices....

Is a crap one imposing price increases when we did not even ask for it! Nice to increase the speeds but be cognitive of the end user

At least some of the packages get a speed increase. Octotel were bound to increase their prices sooner or later.

Symmetrical packages are exciting. 10/5 to 15/15 will be a nice increase in upload speed. Plex server smiles.

I'm also currently on 10/5, but with Webafrica, they communicated a R70 increase (+/- 11%) and bump up to 15/15, which i'm more than happy with since I was wanting to move to 20/5 anyway, but wanted to pay under R700 per month. That would have meant moving away from WA since they only had a 20/2 (for R749) offering. Finally happy with them after a few issues recently.

Received an email from MWEB, 20/5 being moved to 30/30 and the price will change from R699 to R779
R80 for a 50% increase, not too bad.

CISP now has better pricing on Octotel than before, I will be moving to CISP 100/100 as I think it's cheaper than the other competitors. Vote with your wallet and ISP ratings, it's not easy to lose the top spot and take it back again well done!

not overkill for a home user?
It does make those linux distributions download quite fast... Personally I have the option to move to 1Gbps on trenched (currently on 200mbps), but looking at the usage patterns in a sizeable household there's really no need.
