Guys, I appreciated DW's efforts - and the fact that some kind of involvement is now evident in these forums - aside from ProAsm's. Whilst we all like and respect ProAsm, I do believe dw's comments are valid too.

<h5>None of this of course changes the fact that it is now 107 days, 19 hours, 29 minutes and 2 seconds since this **** has started. </h5>(To confirm, check http://www.timeanddate.com/date/durationed.html?d1=1&m1=05&y1=2004&h1=&i1=&s1=&d2=&m2=&y2=&h2=&i2=&s2=)

I am reading these forums and it seems to run thick with dissappointed MW users. I don't know much about this technology sentech is using, thats why my advice would be useless. I just hope they can eventually satisfy the unhappy people of this forum. I must say I have been 90% satisfied the other 10% is made up of disconnections and the odd maintenace here and there. So for sucktech's sake I hope they get it right at some stage. I am stuck with them now because there isn't something better out there in SA and I don't think iburst is the holy grail of SA broadband internet. We just have to see this through until telecoms gets properly de-regulated in SA - maybe not in my lifetime.
My suggestion to future players is do proper studies and give users what you promise them otherwise this (what is going on with MW atm) will repeat itself endlessly. - AND DON't FSCK it UP

Well, I'd endure crap speeds etc if I had good service... I know that sounds stupid, but from running a family business, through to IT.... I've learnt one thing, and that is, your product can be much more expensive than your competitors (given the factors of exact same product etc), if you're service is impecible, the client would return to YOUR business. Improving on the product would go a long way in this case, improving their service (to me) would be even better

I just spoke to helpdesk... being past the halfway point in the month and all I thought I'd find out what the hell's going on seeing as nothing has improved on my side. Anyways, according to him Sentech haven't even identified what the problem is yet! I dunno about you but that makes me highly doubt that things'll be fixed by the end of the month. Also, anyone heard any stories about Sentech having being bought by some other company?

Sentech belongs to the SA Govt. It can't be sold without an order of Parliament.

Ok cool, spoke to some guy and this is what he said:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ i got a call now from some dewd at sentech doing a survey
asking me what i think, hows the call centre, speeds, disconnecting.. etc he tells me some company has just baught sentech and is pumping 2 billion rand into their network
they all ****in mad
thats what he says, i dont believe any of them though :p

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
But like he said, he doesn't believe them, who knows .. maybe it's someone who got hold of that e-mail that sentech ingeniously sent around a few weeks ago.

Trying to buy time. If they can make us think they are under new management or has new bosses or something in that line. They think that we will excuse them when Sept. 1st comes, and their service is still up to sh***. Then in the year 2999 (I'm being positive here) their service will be fixed and they will say "Hey there was rumors about selling Sen*** but they were never true".

Sentech a perfect example of: “When great ideas go terrible wrong!”

I'm not interested in rumours and 2 Billion Rand stories....
I simply want reliability & speed! :)

I am aware that Sentech HQ is crawling with external "experts" installing bandwidth management technology amongst other things (upgrades). . . so I am still going to pray that this all gets resolved before the end of the month.
ADSL is still not an ideal option for me... and iBust is simply another new technology that I want to see prove itself first. Hopefully they would have at least done their homework <b>first</b>!!!!

edit: iBust = Freudian Slip!!

"iBust"....LOL....

That is what Sentech has done to us, turned us all into cynics.... or then again maybe it was just a typo.

Quote from new Sentech CFO: <font size="1">“I intend to facilitate the unlocking of MyWireless...."</font id="size1">

Now I know how this rumour must have started...."unlocking" is often nothing more than corporate speak for:
"we have to sell this problematic division"

But they can "outsource" the management and user base... basically back to a "signal distributor" situation like they have with traditional TV signal distribution
