I think they can sell the license as well. Or at least sell the legal entity that holds the license. Isn't that how they got it in the first place? They bought some SABC department that came with a bunch of licenses?

Nope, they didn't buy an SABC department - They were an SABC department!

Sentech has always been the signal distributer for SABC. They are a company which is 100% owned by the government. Their "multi-media" license is what they are using for MyWi. Even if they outsource MyWi, they will still have to handle signal distribution....

What are the odds that since they are goverment owned (and this stands to reason that they are corrupt) that they use us the subscribers to fund their WANs and other networks. This will also explain the low bandwidth we are getting.

Come on Headend I'm giving them away out. Confess blame it on the goverment and like everything else in SA their problem will dissapear into a big black hole. O yea I forgot WE are their problem. OK bad idea BAD IDEA!!

sorry guys... i think it IS fixed... this is the best its going to get. if sentech say 4k is ok, they think its fixed. get out while you have the chance....

no - I think the 256K customers are the smallest user base and therefore the easiest to manage and assess network changes ... I may be wrong here ... Or most unequal bandwidth allocation is happening on the 256K ...

same here regard... if it's not fixed by then... i'm OUTTA here! hello ADSL! :) At least Tiscali guarantee you analog speeds when you've hit the cap - i.e 4kBps - which is eight times as fast as what I have at the moment!

Anyone else think that 128k and 512k users are going to see a dramatic drop in service while the 256k guys get a moderate improvement? Then in a couple of weeks they will optimise 512k by taking away the bandidth from the 256k guy. After that they take away the 512 and give it to the 128 guys?

After all they are government guys. Probably figure that if leaving fields fallow works with miellies it must work with this internet thingymajig!

I would love to see the customer reaction if come the end of August Sentech still haven't fixed things up :).
That's what gives me hope that they will actually fix it, because if they don't .. well I'm sure we'll all be outside head offices planting sticks of C4 to the walls. I know this guy who can like hook us up you know with some explosives .. and he's also a disgruntled Sentech "customer" =)

I have decided that since everyone is going to leave, the service has to improve and I should be able to download and surf as much as I want[:D]

Since I am 256k I am holding my breath until the 25th of August [:0] - btw it said upgrade - I hope thats what it is...
Why do they need until the 25th anyway?

I hope they pick on 128k next... hehe [:p]
