I recently learned that some countries have processes in place to allow dogs (and perhaps other animals?) to donate organs after their death. So far as I can find out, it's mostly limited kidneys, corneas, and some bone/soft tissue. Seems to be a fairly recent field too. I know of two countries where this is available - US and South Korea.
Does such a program exist in SA?
