Hu?

I've been paying R150 per month for a while now.

Same as the Water Connection fee every month.

Or are you talking about something else?
im at home and just checked my bill.
i only pay R218.91 rates and taxes after the rebate and the additional indigent relief.
Nothing else.

Remember i did say i live in a complex and also pay around R800 levy

In Cape Town there is definitely a connection fee per month on prepaid no matter whether you use it or not. It started a few months ago.
where do you see it?
i thought it was built into your consumption hence i am paying R2.10 per kilowatt

But why are you on Indigent Relief? And if you are, then this fee doesn't apply to you and that's why you don't see it.

In Cape Town if your municipal valuation is less than R1 million, you don't charged an electricity connection fee. If over R1 million, you get the connection fee on your municipal bill and nothing taken off when you buy prepaid units.

awesome, I assume it is a long drawn out process to change to prepaid :crying:
Took about a month for me to convert to prepaid with COJ. I used a third party to facilitate the process on my behalf.

ok a month is great, however I got a quote from a third party to assist me and it came out to R 7 500 which is ridiculous. I will try some other guys or just do it myself, a guy that works in my office told me he did it himself for R 800 and he only had to go to COJ twice (also took them a month to sort his meter out).

Some areas are serviced directly by Eskom and others by CoCT. I'm not sure, though I think this could have an impact.
