There are 4 pools. Are you saying we'll be coming 2nd after Samoa in our pool?

We're in by far the easiest pool. This means tough quarterfinal.

Samoa played good rugby over the past two years. They also had a better game against New Zealand than the Pumas.

The lookout team for me is Fiji, this is also their first world cup year where they are busy with a training camp or formal squad. The Fijians are heavily motivated after been crowned the Pacific champs. England and Wales must better up their game.

We need to win the quarters, that's our challenge at our current winning rate.

Pool A is the group of death.
AUSTRALIA
ENGLAND
WALES
FIJI
URUGUAY

We should win group B considering how easy it is and then play the runner up in the Group A. That means probably England or Wales. Or perhaps even Australia. The only thing we can hope for is that those teams will destroy each other because that group is so tough and when it comes to the quarter finals will have many injuries.

Well from the UK forum I visit, they were quite impressed with Zane. Haven't seen him play myself, but he must be good at something. Meyer won't just put him in for nothing.

Why will HM select Zane Kirchner.

1. He is a Blue Bull
2. He plays the club rugby adopted by the Pumas

We may still see these players on match day,

Additional tour squad members:

Bismarck du Plessis, Steven Kitshoff, Siya Kolisi, Rudy Paige, Elton Jantjies

Maybe Lambie will get sick or something :whistling:

He was a Blue Bull. Statistically Zane was the best fullback in S15 in his last season, but internationally Willie did play better than him at that time. Willie also didn't look threatening for me in a while. Zane also have played in the WC conditions now, so he might be a suitable choice. Don't knock HM just because he prefers Zane. And with the whole Cosatu thing hanging over HM it might also have factored in.

But then again, I am a Morne Steyn. Think he has done consistently better than Pollard and Lambie. What use is a FH if he cant keep the scoreboard ticking over.

Well this is not going to please you then (if it turns out to be true)

From sarugbymag.co.za

Meyer to stay on until 2019

Saru has reportedly agreed to extend Heyneke Meyer's contract by another four years.

Meyer has been under fire this week following the Boks' first ever defeat to Argentina, which saw them finish last in the Rugby Championship. The Bok coach has also been heavily criticised for failing to transform the national side, even though he has picked 17 players of colour during his tenure.

Die Burger reports that Saru has already agreed to extend Meyer's contract until the end of the 2019 World Cup in Japan, but that it is being kept secret for now.

Meyer has coached the Boks in 40 Tests, winning 26. Only Kitch Christie (100%), Nick Mallett (71%) and Jake White (66%) achieved a better win success rate than Meyer (65)

People are giving HM way too much flak.

He was the first South African coach to win Super Rugby. If you don't count the super 10.

He has a relatively good winning record. We always find a reason to hate our coaches.

fanboi alert ....... if you can't see the shortcomings of people like HM and Steyn and hold them in such high regard, don't be surprised when no one takes you seriously

There is a whole lot of hysteria. We lost to an Argentinian side that played out of their skins. Imhoff scored the first hat-trick against SA in history.

There is quite obviously a lot of legitimate concerns, though.

Who in your opinion is better than HM at the moment? The only other coach SA had in recent years that has achieved a few thing is Ludeke - really unliked at the BB at the moment. And Coetzee and he also has a lot of heat against him. There is no other coaches that achieved more than these 3. Unless you want to go for an international couch. Ask Wales/Australia how that is going/went for them.

Nick Mallet won't touch it with a barge pole, he get's good money from Supersport, no stress and no one telling him what not to say.

Would love if Mallet coached again.

John Mitchell still thinks too NZ rugby for SA. He only had one successfull year as coach for all the teams he coached.

Dick Muir was assistant coach for the Springboks so he can be a good choice.

Wasn't Naka just dropped in favour of someone else?

Rassie is always mentioned, and I am a WP supporter, but I can't remember his stint with us when coaching that positively.

The others on your list isn't even better qualified than PdV (prior to being selected Bok coach) to get the job.
