Honestly don't think he's the right signing for us. He had 1 good season, he's a very counter attacking player... If teams decide to sit deep in their box and not give us any space then vardy is as useful as eating ice cream with a fork. Also not the most consistent.

This sounds like it'll go the way of the Suarez attempt. I'm not convinced he suits arsenal either

With welbeck out and Walcott ****, I can get on board with this. I wouldn't expect a repeat of last season, in terms of goals though, definitely offers a threat on the counter, which we actually play on a lot.

Also, we can have ozil feeding the ****

I agree with you, if our manager just bought when he had the cash- instead of procrastinating, now just to shut up the complaining fans he buys crap. This is a similar example to the Welbeck purchase - hated it , then he will turn around and say see money doesn't buy success. Of course it wouldn't when you buy crap after being forced into a corner. Where is that lightning when you need it.

You need to look at the bigger picture.

Moving from Fleetwood (a non-league side) to Leicester also meant jumping 3 leagues. That's non-league to facing players with Premier League experience/potential. 2014/15 was also Leicester's first season back in the Premier League. His 5 goals were also joint second best on the team, only Ulloa scored more and he was the ring-leader in their 5-3 comeback win over United. Other crucial contributions including winning goals against West Brom and fellow relegation stragglers Burnley during their epic run at the end of the season.

What I take from that is a player that took a season to acclimatise to a new level of football and to me that is a positive. A guy with non-league roots has been able to adapt to all levels of football. Not to mention he's scored at international level now as well.

I think the biggest question would be whether there is an actual match in terms of system and playing style. It could work out, but I reckon Vardy is setting himself up for potential failure by moving to Arsenal. He thrives when he is a direct outlet player and that doesn't strike me as a Wenger-type.

Weakening the opposition.
The only team that was above us in the league table.

I doubt Leicester would repeat last season's feat even if they held on to all of their current team.

I'm all for it. Our requirements were a striker who could score more than 20 goals in a season with more speed than Giroud. All options seem to cost 50m+ yet we can buy the very guy who scored more than 20 goals and has more pace than Giroud for far less with premier league experience. I'm not too worried about his past or age, as Giroud himself as well as Ian Wright were what you call late bloomers. Ian came up a division to join us at 28/29 and went on to score bucket loads. Get it done!

He's the top striker in the league if you include assists. For 20 mil that's a no brainer for me. Different type of player to what we have, can only improve our team imo.

We just need a guy to put it in the back of the nett.

Btw Giroud has 3 in two matches for France in their Euro warm-ups. Scored 1 in a game where the French fans boo'ed him. Followed that up with a brace in the next game against Scotland. Happy for him.

Seems to do well when there's proper competition.

Yeah I do see the positive side of the signing of him too.. Especially with guys like ozil and cazolra providing the chances. Well let's see what happens!

Player with speed, guile and finishing doesn't fit our style. Ok.......

people seem to have forgotten this is how we used to set up not so long ago, fast transitions used to be our thing when we still had strikers with pace to run in behind

10 second counter attacks from an opposition corner that ended with Henry or Pires scoring? Yep, remember those well...

Interesting comparison between Vardy and Wright - both would have joined Arsenal at the same age (29) if Vardy signs, and Wright was our record goal scorer before Henry. So someone like Vardy still has a lot to offer.

We all know how Wenger likes to buy his strikers from France. To keep with tradition Vardy is on his way to France.

A better Theo Walcott. I think Vardy is the player Wenger envisioned Theo becoming and he's good enough for me considering that we're going to make more purchases. I don't think he's the long term buy that Le boss wanted but goals is goals and considering what someone like Higuain would cost, Vardy's a bargain.

Also the benefit of Vardy is that he can also play right wing. so he gives us that extra option of playing 4-3-3 or we can revert to 4-4-2 with him playing closer to Giroud.

I like the idea of Vardy coming to us. Like Sanchez he just seems to have so much energy and will run ragged every game for the team and plus he knows where the goals are.

I've got a weird feeling the Vardy transfer is going to go the same way as the Saurez transfer. Don't think its going to happen.

He does a lot of work off the ball, too. Makes defenders very nervous, and always lurking on the halfway line when the opposition is attacking - I noticed that when I watched us play Leicester at the Emirates. Everytime they broke, they just played it him and he was off.

Özil + Vardy = goals

He's apparently not going to make a decision until after the Euros, so you're probably right.
