More worrying is that Alexis "allegedly" wants to go back to Italy :(

I'm over players wanting to leave. If they do they must go and we take the money. The only problem is Wenger's inablity or unwillingness to replace them. Looking at his track records it's not good.

We've got 3 midfielders leaving and we've replaced them with one addition comes to mind. We're still waiting for a RVP replacement.

You really can't replace those players... look at United, Scholes, Giggs, Ronaldo, Cantona... I don't think there will ever be a like for like replacement...

Exactly. So the next logical step would be to get players as close as possible to that level. AW has failed miserably in even doing that. Those were all tall, powerful players. He's "replaced" them with much shorter, weaker, but admittedly, sometimes skillfull players. Notable recent additions would be Elneny and Xhaka, who are physically strong players, and not exactly vertically challenged, either.

Oezil, Sanchez, Carzola aren't exactly what you would call weaker players...

You reckon Arsenal would do better than 3/4th in La Liga?
Lol, I think we'll struggle for 4th in the EPL this year.

As for La Liga, we may be close to Atletico, but not quite there. Definitely nowhere near Barca or Madrid, though we definitely were over a decade ago.

Yes. I believe we would have fared better than 3/4th after the invincibles. Just not this season and last, as the gap between the top 3 in la liga and barclays have gotten far bigger now.

The way you phrased it I thought i meant more recently.

How do you reckon the top 3 in La Liga would do in England?

They'd beat every team that tried to play ball against them and struggle to break down the others (but they would break them down more often than not)...I'd say they'd finish top 3 again though with Athletico taking the title because they can grind out wins better than the other 2.

Agree on Atletico 100%
