wow really? you really want to end up like United right now???

Who do you think you will get to replace Wenger? who do you think will be able to push for top 4 finish yearly on a shoestring budget?

Speaking of splashing the cash - who is out there that will fit into Arsenal's budget?

Mourihno in charge with Zlatan up front and Pogba on the way? **** yeah!

We apparently have about 100mil+ available for transfers every year. Note, that's probably not the previous year's 100mil, either. We only sign the odd player for 30mil-ish, so where does the rest of that go? And why can't we therefore actually just throw some real money at someone like Higuain or Mahrez or Lacazette, etc? Last year there were reports that we had 200mil available, but only signed Cech.

Who's available, you ask? With the amount of money Arsenal actually have available, any player or manager on earth. They just won't sign for the 5mil we're prepared to offer.

zlatan is free :p

Higuain went to Juve for 75m pounds!!!! fek that I wouldn't want a unproven 28 year old striker in the EPL for that price.

Nor do I want a 100m Pogba - he is not worth that price - Raiola needs to GTFO

Would Mahrez fit in your overflowing midfield? Carzola, Ramsey, Oezil, Wilshere, Xhaka, Elmeny

Unless you think he is a striker that is going to replace: Giroud, Sanchez, Walcott, Welbeck, Campbell

For me it looks like Arsenal needs another CDM and a established striker.

Mourinho?
Seriously?!
No thanks, not now, not ever.. No amount of success isn't worth having that ******* at the club

He wins major trophies. A lot of them. At every club he goes to. AW? Not so much these days.

Yeah, but he's a short term manager. Wonderful high, awful crash.

Don't think Debuchy is going to be around come deadline day.

I tend to agree. I felt sympathy for the guy when he first got injured and I can understand him wanting to get into the French Euro squad but the constant bleating cured me of that pretty quickly. I could see Holt or Chambers putting in a shift there and remember, the corporal is still injured. He had a decent spell at West Ham.

Outsider looking in perspective: How the hell does Arsene not realise the need for a out-an-out quality striker?

If Gonzalo Higuain is going for 75 million sterling, I can see why the manager would be reticent to spend that kind of money. Especially given the poor performances of Oxlade-Chamberlain and Theodore. Strikers are at a premium and if we can fill our goal deficit from the flanks I wouldn't mind. Also, if Aaron Ramsey can do for us what he did for Wales in the Euros, that would help a lot.

Cheers

we finished 4th last season?
2nd, but only because the other clubs completely lost the plot - the previous season's champions finished mid table, remember? It definitely wasn't because we were amazing. And also only because Spurs capitulated against a relegated team on the last day of the season and threw away 2nd spot.

United, Chelsea and City all have new managers that are natural winners. They've all spent a LOT of money. Leicester still have Raneiri and most of the team that won the league. Spurs are stronger. As are West Ham. And Klopp now has Liverpool from the start of the season.

Unless we spend some serious cash in the next few weeks, we're going to struggle this season with our usual crocked-by-November squad.

Small update of potentials who will miss our opening game/first few weeks

Arsenal

"Mertesacker, Jenkinson, Sanchez, Welbeck (injured); Ramsey, Koscielny, Ozil, Giroud (rest); Gnabry, Asano (Olympics); Gabriel (illness)

Arsene Wenger likes to give his players plenty of rest after major tournaments, meaning the likes of Aaron Ramsey, Laurent Koscielny, Mesut Ozil, Olivier Giroud and Alexis Sanchez may all miss the season opener at home to Liverpool, which is live on Sky Sports on August 14."

The only thing left for us to do is to diarise the end of the transfer window to see if anything has changed - if all remains the same diarise the end of the season. Check if Arsene still reigns in his Lala land kingdom. Rinse repeat - if you care about this team at all Arsene is just going to continue letting you down in his old age.

Add Iwobi to that list. He's at the Olympics, too :(

We lost the opening game for the last two seasons. If that happens this year there is going to be a fan meltdown. I predict another Wenger trolly dash on deadline day.

The first match is going to be tough. I'd take a draw from that and consider ourselves lucky if we're going in without strengthening

using our base 4-2-3-1 shape this is best I could come up with using who's available

---------------------------------cech,

---------------Bellerin, Holding, Chambers, Monreal,

--------------------Coquelin-----------Xhaka

----------- Wilshere----- Cazorla--------Campbell

----------------------------Akpom

bench: Reine-Adelaide, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Walcott, Zelalem, beilik

not bad but two foetuses at cb

Chambers is better going forward than defending. His more of an asset to the other team when defending.

He won't start Holding. Debuchy has played there before and actually did better than at RB. Could also tinker a bit and play Nacho at CB.

Edit: Debuchy is probably going to Bordeaux, so Nacho it is

Jip, it would be madness to start holding. Throwing the poor guy to the wolves. Imagine if he made a mistake that led to a goal and the fans start getting on his back.

Haha fullbacks at CB, midfielders on the wings the Arsenal way.
