Arsenal have been told that the structure of their £16.9million bid for Lucas Perez is 'unacceptable'.

Arsenal want to pay the 27-year-old striker's buyout clause in two instalments but his club Deportivo want the fee in one payment.

The impasse will give Everton hope in their pursuit of the player but it is understood Lucas's preference is to join Arsenal owing to the prospect of playing Champions League football.

Sauce

What the actual ****?

This transfer season is like that time you approach the hottest girl in the class and they look at you like wtf? We look like clowns. Everyone and their mother knows we need a defender and a striker and here we are offering Deportivo 7p for Perez - payable in two instalments. This in a world where Yannick Bolaise's total transfer fee could hit 30 million. I just can't see how clubs take us seriously.

Just to troll us Wenger will bring back Cesc. Just you watch.

/edit
Champs league draw is in.

We have been drawn against Paris Saint-Germain, FC Basel and Bulgarian side Ludogorets in the Champions League group stage.

Aside from PSG we should be able to qualify but this is the Arsenal and I remain confident in our consistent ability to choose the path of most resistance.

Finish second in the group, draw Barca next round?

:whistling:

English clubs did okay...actually the groups look fairly even. No obvious group of death.

I thought about the last part.
Cesc is unsettled, RVP is unsettled, dunno if I want Nasri back, but bring them both for 1 season and we could be champions

Was just about to say that: even when the draw favours us, we find a way to **** it up. It'll go something like this:

Draw a couple of games at home to the minnows (one will be 4-4 - 90th minute equaliser for us), lose to PSG, get a couple of wins away, then have to draw away in the last game at PSG to scrape through in second. Next round, we draw Bayern/Barca (again), get rekt, and think back to the games where we shouldn't have taken the weaker teams for granted. Did I leave anything out? Oh right: a couple of injuries to key players - let's see, Özil and Koscielny?

Spurs and Leicester got nice draws. They're probably licking their lips as we speak!

You forgot a sending off at the Nou Camp for some retarded offense. Lol, this club.

had a look at this lucas perez, seems like this guy is a converted winger deportivo only started playing him as an out and out striker last season

last season as a striker
apps: 35
min played: 3141
goals: 17
assists: 8

2014/2015
apps: 20
min played: 1555
goals: 6
assists: 3

Yeah according to the Deportivo fans he was converted only recently. YouTube compilations look good as is always the case. More interesting is they mention he is a hard worker like Alexis and could always fill in the Theodore when he goes off for his 4 month vacay.

he must be a natural I guess, 17 goals isn't bad going for someone playing a new position, we could've used a few more goals from our backups

It was the Portuguese league though. I expect it'll take a run of games to get properly acclimatized to the EPL.

My bad. I still think it's going to take him some time to get acclimated.
Pity we don't have guys like Keown in the team anymore. He used to kick the crap out out of the noobs (Henry, etc) in training to get them ready for EPL - and it worked.

Henry was also a winger who switched to a striker. Not putting Lucas in his class (not many players ever will be), but there's always hope!

Then again, I wouldn't put it past AW to out him back on the wing now that Joel is gone.

I hoped we would off-load Theo this window but that seem unlikely. I wonder if his wages is the main thing that's stopping other clubs for going for him, except his obvious ****tiness of course.
