I might have thrown a jibe his way, sure but... totally accepting defeat in November? It's not like he used the "little horses" routine from the beginning a la Mourinho last season. I mean FFS, it's November. We're not THAT far ahead of everyone.

Doesn't it irritate you that he has such a defeatist outlook? LVG at least says there is a chance (which there definitely is, no matter how slight) - that's equally ridiculous but at least he doesn't roll over and die.

Look at the number of points they have today and if they keep that up nobody will touch them, that's for sure.

"It doesn't look like anybody is capable of challenging them at the moment.

No absolutes here. Just if they continue with current form nobody is catching them. That much is pretty obvious. Chelsea is going to have to drop points or nobody will catch them. That's basic math.

Ahem...

‘There doesn’t look to be anybody capable of challenging them at the moment.’

Southampton seem to be doing a sterling job of that at the moment. City aren't too far either.

I'm sorry, but I don't think Southampton is challenging for the title.

Then it basically comes down to the definition of too far. 8 points for me is some way off the pace, but that is obviously subjective.

There really are so much more things to critisize Wenger over other than him saying Chelsea are favourite to win the title. His comments doesn't bother me.

His inablitily to see that Chambers is getting overrun and doing nothing about it all game.

That fact that our defense is in shambles due to the fact that he sold players without replacing them.

He's inability to rotate our players properly.

This sums it up for me. Paraphrasing someone on twitter: "If Wenger thinks Sanogo is the answer, then I'm 100% convinced he doesn't know what the question is."

Yep I was annoyed on Sunday whilst watching Chambers getting over run by Montero and getting fleeced time and time again . Chambers tried his heart out but he just was not quick enough to cope with the Swansea winger. If I was the manager I would have put Bellerin on in Chambers place and put Chambers central next to Mertesacker to give a little bit more power in the centre. I know Bellerin is still young and inexperienced but his one and only job would be to stop Montero from getting past and crossing. that second goal was bound to happen with the amount of chances Montero had of crossing.

Question- because I did not watch the game- but who played on the right wing for Arsenal? Why did he not track back and help the obviously struggling Chambers?

It's all good and well pointing to Chambers getting skinned on the right, but if he is offered no protection then you can't really blame him. If a player has the beating of you (especially with regards to pace), it's very difficult to work your way into a superior position over the course of the match. More so when no one is helping you out.

I thought he has contacted man city to hand over the title to Chelsea already? I actually concur

This is a quote he made on Friday:

But Wenger insisted: “If I say to you: ‘No, the objective is not to win the title’, then I have to commit suicide when I go out from here.

“The objective now realistically is for us to get back in a position where we have a chance to win the title.

“That is far from done. Today it looks stupid, but there are 28 games to go. Twenty eight games - it is not bad. We have 84 points to take. We just have to win the next game.”

So he did say that they were.

Haha. ..smokey calling Wenger out for saying we're out of the race. Maverick calling him out for saying we're in the race. Poor Arsene can't win.

You said Arsenal is not competing for the title and I asked who says they are. Your reply was Wenger. Sounded like you're challenging his statement.

Nope, not at all. It's why I linked the full comment, because he didn't just say it without merit.

It was Ox who was mostly playing as a right winger in front of chambers and he did track back and offer protection behind chambers to stop Montero from getting around him but as you mentioned the player had the beating of Chambers through sheer pace and so made enough space for himself to get crosses into the box. It was not that often that Montero actually got around Chambers it was just that he had so many opportunities to cross into the box. The second goal was not entirely Chambers fault as Mertesacker got drawn towards to the front post while Monreal who is not the tallest and who is not a central defender was left to defend against Gomis.

My point is that chambers was not having the best of games out wide and it was just purely down to Montero's pace and then him crossing the ball of which you want to stop. Montero hardly ever went around Chambers so it seems that the Swansea tactic was for Montero to get down the side and cross into either Bony or Gomis (whoever was there). Bellerin would have at least been able to keep up with Montero and hopefully been able to stop him crossing. Also putting a taller player in Chambers in the centre also gives a little bit more height in against Bony and Gomis.

It's things like these that seem obvious to most with the exception of the only guy who can actually do anything about it.
