Don't think he will be playing too far into his 30's to be honest.

I saw that earlier, apparently it isn't that accurate. Imagine being out for overtwo years for just ankle injuries and you're only 22.

This is wrong/inaccurate, at least partly. May 2012, Wilshere has surgery on his Patella tendon (knee) out for 4 months.

He also fractured his heel - not part of the ankle - in January 2012 and was out for 4 months for that.

The daily mail rolled this into one 65 week injury combined with his July 2011 ankle fracture.

It is also counting 4 months for his current injury - which is really no more than a guess.

Found it, length of time is probably right but the actual injuries are different.

Saw a stat earlier today, he has played 95 league games and missed 127 due to injury.

Why do Arsenal players spend most of their time on the hospital bed? Is it the type of players Wenger buys? Is it training? Diet? WTH!! Something needs to change, because this happens year after year.

Combination of a lot of factors.

Wenger breaks our players. Lack of rotation combined with a squad not capable of competing on 4 fronts.

Look at Podolski for example. He might not be a world beater, but he is still a decent player. How much has he played. What's the point of keeping him on if you're never going to play him. Nope lets rather play the same players twice a week and then act all suprised when they breakdown. Same can be said for Rosicky.

Lets go into a season with 2 centrebacks and then act suprised if one of these guys, whom you already ran into the ground last season, breaks down.

Chambers is 19 and plays everygame. Why not rotate him with Bellerin. Nope, lets rather see how long he can play twice a week before he breaks.

Wenger likes to talk up his big squad. Truth is he only trusts a certain number of players.

EDIT: There are obviously other factors as well, which includeds just plain bad luck, but this for me is one of the bigger contributors and actually the easiest one to fix.

I agree with you. I think that the style of football Arsenal play exacerbates the lack of rotation, and increasingly leads to the regular injuries sustained by your players. At least, that's the main factor I do think is the problem.

Decent result. 3pts and a clean sheet. But of course, we just had to pick up more injuries, didn't we?

So you don't think Chelsea are favorites to win the title, but City still has a chance to catch them?

I do, the problem I had was Wenger writing off everyone's chances to begin with, then backtracking less than a month (and two games) later. Stick to your guns, Wenger.

"Look at the number of points they have today and if they keep that up nobody will touch them, that's for sure.

"It doesn't look like anybody is capable of challenging them at the moment.

At that stage City was struggling a bit and at that moment in time it didn't look like anybody could challenge them. City are hitting some form now and have made up some points.

I don't know what Wenger said now, but at the time of the quote I posted I don't see anything wrong with what he said. It was a pretty accurate assesment of how things stood at the time.

As for his prediction, it came with a massive qualifier. "If they keep it up." Thats like saying if Chelsea win all there remaining games they'll win the league, which is Captain Obvious level stuff.
