Arsenal have been using zonal marking for as long as I can remember. When Pat Rice was there and now Steve Bould, the only constant was Wenger, so the decision to use that system is down to him imo.

Yes he has done great things for English football, he has won us some trophies, but because of that he's become this egotistical, power hungry maniac. He refuses to get with the times and come up with the same excuses after every game. I've come to hate the person Wenger has become over the past 9/10 years, he shows disregard to the fans as well former players and pundits who critise. People rarely critised Fegurson, because he never gave them a reason to.

I watched the Chelsea game last night and he was actually refreshing to see how a top club adjusts their game to the situation. Wenger only has a Plan A and if he gets called out on it we get the "have you ever managed a game in your life" response. We need new fresh ideas, I kinda get excited just thinking of the prospect of a new manager coming in and changing things up.

I have a feeling things will only change once we don't make 4th or win any form of trophy, which i think is going to happen this season.

Agreed with all above, Wenger is stuck in old ways and will never change. Bring in a new manager, give him 2-3 seasons to adjust with some nice fresh ideas.

Yes. Us winning the FA Cup last season was his saving grace. Recall before that how much pressure their was on him. The trophy made us forgot. For a while. Then this season started.

It was great we eventually got a trophy, but to our detriment.

I can't believe a team that pulled finger last season to get us into 4th, winning the FA CUP. Then we strengthen with 3 great signings and all of a sudden we fall to pieces?

Yes our injury list is ridiculous, but that's part of the game and is not an excuse anymore. Fire the fitness team and make our guys strong, not these brittle little tarts who get injured if someone farts on them.

I'm actually shocked that NO-ONE at AFC has actually done something about one of the biggest factors in us failing so badly: injuries. It's beyond ridiculous. Yes, dead horse, etc. But when is something going to be done about it? As Flamini said, we can't be competitive in the EPL and CL with 11 players - we need 25.

We technically only strengthened the squad with 1 world class player over the summer. The other players were brought in as replacements. End of last season we were 3/4 world class (or above average) players short of being a team that can challenge for the title. The past summer was the perfect opportunity to push on after the FA cup win and we totally messed that up. Chelsea didnt have the team last season to win the league, so what did they do? They went out in the transfer market a fixed their problems. Something so simple which we couldn't do. The current team, even with everyone fit is not capable of competing with the likes of City and Chelsea. Watching the Chelsea vs Stoke game last night reinforced this point. Wenger should see through his contract (hopefully leaving us in top 4 position) and we bring someone new in that can take the team forward.

****ing Giroud! Almost cost us, but we finally (!) managed to hang on for a win. The lads will probably be exhausted after what was meant to be a straightforward victory. Not sure what Escargot was thinking when he pulled the Rooney, but we're now without him for 3 games in the busiest period of the year.

Pulled a Rooney? Didn't know Giroud scored two and was named man of the match..

WTF?! We've signed Khedira!

Edit: SuperSport's source is a report in Spain, so let's not get too excited yet

You know your team is ****ed when you have to throw on an 18-year old to try and get a draw... and then still walk away with nothing.

I can't even begin to describe how pathetic our back line was today. FML. Oh well, a very good chance to get our 4th place trophy early this year, and we screwed it up. FA Cup next. Hull could do us a favour and not show up.

Well, we (Liverpool) nearly lost to the bottom of the log team today. At least you guys lost to a direct challenger for 3rd/4th

This fraud of a manager has caused me more heartache than my recent breakup.

/comfort

I share your pain (sans the breakup part). It seems emotional turmoil is just part and parcel of being a Gooner.

The window opens in 2 days. We'll either see something positive (like the summer window) or utter **** (like last season's winter window). Poldi, sadly, looks like the first casualty: after AW laughed off Inter's last bid, they've come back with a stronger offer that we now actually have to consider. Rumours abound of who's going to come in, but I'm not going to hold my breath. Talk of a loan move for Suarez of Atletico: I don't see the point of loaning someone. It's just papering over the cracks. Just BUY someone and get it over and done with!

TBH I don't trust Wenger to go out and buy what we need, the way I'm feeling now I don't really care who he brings in as long he leaves at the end of season.

Sorry for not wanting to finish 4th every season, sorry for not being OK with a manager who's tactically inept, a manager who doesn't address what needs to be addressed.

I'm a proud member of the WOB and for four straight seasons now, I've had enough.

Btw what's your take on what's going on at the club? Everything the board's fault? Oil Money? Steve Bould? The Stadium debt?
