Just because they aren't part of Barcelona, don't think they weren't great at their time.
David O Leary:
Tony Adams:
Just because their name isn't Xavi or Iniesta, don't write them off. Educate yourself.
Barca taught Cesc the basics, Wenger turned him into a finished product
Cantera won't be able to spot a good non-spanish player if he kicked him in the FACE! Just remember, Messi was good when he joined Barca from Old Boys (aged 13) Him and Cesc were both ready for first team action aged 15, so Barca thought him, but he was also poached out of their academy and put into Barcas academy. Remember Cesc wasn't just dropped into the first team when he arrived at arsenal, he did get a few first team games, but did a lot of youth and reserve work, before moving up into the first team.
lol this argument is like saying Everton made the boy Rooney is today...
Sporting made who Ronaldo is today,
São Paulo made who ***a is today!
Manchester City made who Ryan Giggs is today!
Do I need to go on?
Point is anyone can kick a soccer ball, anyone can be told how to kick and how to score but no matter how talented you are you'll never be the best without the right coach!
Case in hand: Ryan Babel, Ricardo Queserma, etc
Cantera seems awfully quite all of a sudden![]()
cos he doesn't have INET at work so to speak... or maybe the manager realised he spends all his time punting Barca all day long on the forum (and the manager is a RM fan) and decided to block the site![]()
that sounds familar...Working my ass off of late.
Those players can not be classed with the Ronaldo's, K.a.K.a's, Xavi's of this world. They were good for their clubs and thats about it. Show me players who were produced that changed the world of football. That will go down in history as legends of the world game.
I think it was a bit more than the basics. If you watch Cesc play, it is identical to the way all Cantera from the academy play.
I have been a Messi supporter since he was 13 years old.
As usual, you turn your argument to deflect away from your misguided initial question - you asked for 5 worth mentioning, and if they aren't worth it to you - you don't know football. As I mentioned before, Adams was included in the Football League 100 Legends, with names such as Shilton, Hurst, Best, Charlton and Cantona.
Really? Really? Seems odd then that Barca wants Cesc to come back so desperately if, according to you, every player in the academy plays identically to him. Such a waste
Messi supporter since he was 13? What, he gave you a call when he left Argentina? I call bullsh|t. Please, explain to me how you heard of/saw Messi playing in 2000.
Liverpool tomorrow night gents. Big game and a must win. Can only hope Bendtner starts with Arshavin on the left. Arsha has been quiet of late but he has a habit of scoring against Pooh. I'd also start with Rosicky instead of Walcott.
C'mon Gunners! Lets get back to winning again.
It's not like liverpool have exactly been on fire themselves lately - they past few games were scrappy affairs. They be lucky to come away with a point tonight.Ill be happy with 10-0 haha. Nah i really dont have any faith right now with arsenal. if we manage to win this then liverpool should be worried.
Catalan sports tabloid Sport reports this morning that Arsenal are set to step up their interest in Barcelona’s 18-year-old attacking midfielder Gai Assulin.
The young Israeli playmaker is out of contract at the end of the 2009/2010 season and Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has been known to be an admirer of Assulin for some time now.
Assulin has been available to sign a new deal with a foreign club since January 1, 2010 and although the young starlet is keen to stay at the Camp Nou, Arsenal are committed to making the signing.
The youngest ever Israeli international (Assulin made his debut for the national side at 16) has spent much of the season training with the Barcelona first team and although he played his first official match for the first team in the Copa del Rey match against Cultural Leonesa on 28 October 2009, he hasn’t made an appearance in the Spanish Primera Division or the Champions League.
Talks between Assulin’s agent, Pini Zahavi, and Barcelona are expected in the next two weeks and Arsenal are keeping a keen eye on developments.
The 18-year-old attacking midfielder is one of the most highly rated youngsters at the Nou Camp and he has made rare appearances for the first team this season in pre-season friendlies and the Copa del Rey. He moved to Barcelona at the age of 12, and proved his abilities during the 2007/2008 season with Barcelona B, when he scored nine goals in 24 appearances.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has a history of poaching Barcelona’s youngest stars, most famously with current Gunners captain Cesc Fabregas as well as Fran Merida.
As usual, no source cited. Anyway, if Barca don't offer him what he wants, what's wrong with Arsenal wanting to?
Interesting transfer news are out and it has been reported that Barcelona starlet Gai Assulin is now a target for Premier League club Arsenal.
Local British newspapers have reported that the Gunners are keeping tabs on Barcelona’s speedy Israeli winger.
The 18-year-old, who made his Israel debut at 16, snubbed a move to Chelsea in 2007
