That keeping was tragic, and the referee was even worse, both of them should be shot

Clear penalty for Rosicky in the 2nd half not awarded, and the quick free kick was questionable too, if Fabianski held the ball he wouldve been carded, if he kicked the ball away, he wouldve been carded... He gave the ball to the ref, in his hands...
Ah well, 1-0 to the Arsenal at the Emirates in the return leg will be sufficient

Fabregas was fouled about 9 times, from behind, it was clear they were targeting him, and the ref did pretty much nothing about it.. 3 yellows in total for the whole Porto team?

Bad bad bad day at the office for the Arsenal.

I was joking before the game saying Fabianski can't be much worse than Almunia. Boy was I proven wrong. Shocking keeping. The foul on Rocisky looked very much like a penalty to me. They didn't show ONE replay of the incident. dodgy.

We can moan about the referee all we want, but at the end of the day we played really badly. Looked lethargic and lacked any attacking threat in the 2nd half. Why Wenger only brought Eboue on with 3 minutes remaining I don't understand. At the moment I'd rather start with Eboue than Nasri.

Rekon we'll trounce Porto at the Emirates. Hopefully we'll have Arsha and, never thought I'd say it, Almunia back then.

Jeez Ive seen bad goal keeping but bad isnt the word to use, why couldn't he play when Liverpool came there last week :D

Well I'm sorry but the ref was terrible and his actions are questionable and really deserve to be investigated, even if you overlook the penalty, he blocked Campbell off from preventing the quick free kick

and I agree about Eboue, he made a big difference when he came on, but the guy is too unstable, like fabianski

Its pointless blaming the ref. These things happen.

Blame the players, they should have done more to win the game.

Cant blame the ref for the ball, we made that quick taking of free kicks famous when Sukur/Bergkamp did it. Wenger cant complain, Henry used that so many times as well.

Fabianksi is dismal. Almunia is quite bad as well. WE REALLY NEED TO SIGN A GOAL KEEPER!!!!!! Akinveef hasnt signed for united yet, why not sign him ?? FFS ever Itumeleng Kune (spelling seems off) can do a better job.

Going forward we were bad as well...

I agree that Eboue is playing better than nasri, denilson cant track back either. We need to sign 3 players end of Season. Goal Keeper, HOLDING MIDFIELDER and a Striker to cover for VP when he is out. Walcott and Bendtner aren't really showing their "true quality" that Arsene "knows" they have.

Cant believe i am going to say this... I agree with Cantera on that last statement. Players fault. I think the ref missed a penalty, but that happens. There were some dodgy ones when Campbell was around early on as well. I do think Fabregas requires more protection from the ref, i think Cantera might agree here :p

Not so hard to agree with me, is it :D

Refs need to protect players!! That is their job. Players like Ronaldo, Messi, Cesc etc always get kicked around on the pitch. Its the refs duty to make sure they are protected!

Yes yes... Ovrebo is great. Great. He should be the ref for every game played in the ECL. Brilliant.

Im not sure if i blame Ovrebo for that offside. The assistant should have flagged for offside.

I dont think Ovrebo was even in a position to judge weather he was offside.

Yes but as arseblogger (or couldve been goonerholic) put it, you didnt see ref's intentionally blocking off defenders from stopping the quick free kick from being taken, as this corrupt swede did with Campbell

Whats :sick: is these refs are happy to book defenders for standing too close when someone is trying to take a kick. Yet he didn't even bother counting ten yards for the wall. If someone had blocked the ball they'd been booked:sick:

Dude, the ref had every right to stand there. He is part of the game. Campbell and Fabianski should have done better. Dont blame the ref, it is pointless. The players should have done better. Fabianski and Campbell should have done better. Campbell was too busy holding his hands over his head instead of paying attention to the game. Other than that ridiculous blunder, i thought Campbell had a great game.

Arsenal were famous for quick free kicks back in the day.

There were a few games that Barca dropped points this season due to the ref not being 100%. I dont know if you read about the current ref saga that has been going on for months now in La Liga? What i have learnt from it is, you just cannot blame the ref. There will always be dodgy decisions going against you, but the players need to rise above it and put in a better effort.

Blaming the ref is pointless.

Chelski were gifted the points too, which is good to see before it means they are yet to stumble against the lower team. Not to mention they still have 'pool to lose to and then draw with United & Citeh:D

I never opened the link, until you posted what it was about.

Barcelona are not a poaching club, the bulk of their squad are home grown players. If we show an interest in a young player, does that mean we are a poaching club?

If you look at EPL clubs, most of their squads are made up of young players that came through the ranks at other clubs.

I have been hearing for some time that Yaya might be used to get Cesc to Camp Nou. If Arsenal doesnt want to include him in a swop deal, then the idea is to sell him to Man City and use the funds of that transfer to help with the Cesc transfer fee.

It is sad actually, he is better than Busquets, yet Busquets gets more time than him. Im hoping he starts tonight and wins his place in the team.
