Arsenal didn't go out trying to deliberately kick people off the pitch. There'sbig difference Randhir and it's not rocket science. And of course Pulis told them to go kick us. Ricardo Fuller even said that Arsenal don't like being kicked before they played. (A comment no one in the English media blinked an eye about). We didn't break people's legs constantly did we? Again, there's a difference between having the game plan to go out and kick the opposition and being a physical team. Which you would know if you actually took time to think about it and weren't talking out of your ass simply for a reason to deride Arsenal.
No surprise you're doing it though since we all know the manager who started the trend of kicking us out of the game ;) (which ended in Reyes' career ending btw).

Dont pay attention to him, he doesnt know the game and very often makes mindless statements.

Ridiculous that people are trying to justify what happened and calling Arsenal hypocrites.

What a joke!

Whats your point?

QUOTE]

Shouldn't have to spell it out, but here it is:

Wenger is a hypocrite. Yes, he has always been an advocate of so-called "beautiful" football, but he also had his players who were big and physical on/off the ball ie Vieira, Keown, Parlour, Silva. They were his enforcers, men who put other players on the ground when they needed to - that was one of their jobs. Now that Arsenal are lacking a player like that, they cry that every week they're getting kicked off the pitch, Wenger complains about 'anti-football', and the self pity goes on and on. I've seen Arsenal supporters here, on Arsenal blogs and forums, post that they need someone in that mold, a breaker, so to speak, and recently have been happy that Song seems to be stepping up. Now that a few chance tackles have hurt your players, Arsenal supporters are up in arms, because they feel hard done by, but here's the truth lad: when Vieira was at Arsenal, he earned 9 red cards, making him the most carded player in the EPL, but Arsenal won trophies, and none of the fans or Arsene Wenger complained then, making them hypocrites now.

Song breaks up play not by means of breaking players legs.

But then what would one expect from supporters such as yourself - fortunately Martin Samuels - decorated english sports columnist and Mr 3 yellow cards graham poll all differs and others in terms of opinion from your own.

Shawcross also has a record for breaking players legs - this is his 2nd victim now.

Shawcross got taught well there at the Roy Keane school of permanently maiming players - it's the way up there how they prefer to play after all.

@phiber - Just because Vieira didn't break any legs means he isn't a dirty player? Now, don't get me wrong, I agree fully that refs need to start protecting players, in fact after that match I told a friend of mine that maybe the only way to ensure a mostly clean game was to make the team that got the red play with a man down for the NEXT game as well. It might go some way to making sure we reduce the amount of horrific tackles we see in the game. What I'm arguing, is that it's not kosher for Wenger to make all these accusations and start his conspiracy nonsense, yet be fine when his players do the same thing (please note, I'm talking about playing dirty - not necessarily breaking legs.)

@silent_shadow - please, remain silent. The fact that you're making things personal is showing how immature you are. I hadn't insulted, or even responded to anything you said, so watch yourself please.

From what I have seen, guys like Song, Makelele, Viera and co are there to break down play on counter attacks. Other than that they do more of a holding role, cutting out the diagonal balls chasing balls and making good well timed tackles. Viera never came out and said the way to stop an attack is to kick a team.

Yeah, of course. But that doesn't mean they can't be dangerous while doing it.

Thanks for the massive input there Genius

Are you by any chance talking of Jose Antonio Reyes? If you are, please stop posting here, your knowledge of the game is limited at best.

Please can you point out, whats out of line?

Wenger: "I didn't see many bad tackles in the game. But this one was horrendous...."

It was a horrendous injury but NOT a horrendous tackle. I have been watching the game for more than 20 years and Wenger has watched many many years more than me. I have seen a million worse tackles than the one on Ramsey. Wenger was out of line, he knows it was not a horrendous tackle, but he said it was. He's not stupid. He knows exactly what he's doing.

4 former Man U players on that list and we all know they need to do a little more than others to warant a red card.

Bitter much? Carrick got a red (second yellow) for merely touching the ball to Evra after the whistle had gone. Vidic got sent off for doing something that Carragher did, yet no red card for Carragher. Always complain complain complain.

Tony Pulis himself said it was a bad challenge. Sure there have been worse tackles. Duh.

The fact is, Shawcross made a terrible lunge went over the ball and broke the leg of Ramsey. If you think that is a fine challenge, then I feel for you. Shawcross needs to be held accountable for his wreckless challenge, else we'll have these incidents over and over again. Have you actually seen a replay of the incident? I haven't, but the severity of the injury implies how bad the tackle was.

Dude... Bendtner's always been useless. He's the only person who thinks he's a good player. RvP would've had a hat trick tonight.

Missed the game, what happen to cesc??

It would be the Spaniard's last significant contribution, though, as he was substituted before the half was out, feeling the hamstring that had cost him a month out the team over December and January – a pull suffered against the same opposition at Turf Moor. This is undeniably a worry ahead of the Champions League game against Porto on Tuesday night, although Wenger did not immediately rule him out.

From The Guardian. Big loss if he's out for a significant amount of time.

Cesc out, but I rekon we'll have enough to beat Porto. Porto were poor when we played them at home. We were just very poor.

Hoping Sol gets his first start at the Emirates.

My predicted startin XI:

---------------------------Almunia

Eboue/Sagna------Campbell------Vermaelen------Clichy

----------------------------Song

---------------Diaby---------------------Nasri

Walcott-----------------Bendtner-------------------Arshavin

I rekon thats a pretty strong line up, even without Cesc. Still have the likes of Rosicky on the bench.
