Good to be back to winning ways after the set back at the mancs. Really glad Theo is back and poldi is close. Awesome options to have on the bench.

Hopefully Giroud's dry spell is over and I think Ozil needs to sit out a game he's not as sharp as he was maybe he's playing too much

Well played! Managed to squeeze 2 past the tightest defence in the league. Though, looking at the first goal, it's kinda hard to imagine how they've done that? And the penalty? Well...

To be fair, we were missing louvren and shaw was injured quite early on.
Boruc is an idiot, he had multiple attempts to fix his screw up before being embarrassed for life.
As for the penalty, it was pretty damn soft..

Anyways, we didnt deserve the win or even a point out of it. Arsenal looked the better team, and without wanyama running around brute forcing arsenal we would have been further down. How we pulled of Adam lallana I have no idea, the guy is in top form.

Anyways, hope to make it more of a competition at St Mary's,

Yip. Give Ozil a rest and let Cazorla run the show for a while. Giroud also needs a break imo - I say let TGSTEL earn some of his wages for a change.

Not so sure about us looking the better team, tbh: you were all over us for long spells in the game, and it took a few good saves from our (Polish!) keeper to keep you at bay. Not sure what the new manager's feeding your players, but it's definitely working! As for the penalty: it's definitely the only one I've seen in a while for shirt-tugging. Even though the law states that it's a penalty offense, they're just never given, cause, well, it's the EPL. :D

Özil has played like a demon for Germany - the REAL (cough) Özil. So I think it's down to adjusting to the EPL. It took Giroud the whole of last season, and we're better for it. Play him until he drops, I say! There was a glimpse of his potential in the Saints game, where he shimmied, cut inside, but then fired it at the keeper - next season, it'll be in the back of the net.

Re: TGSTEL. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD NO! We have Theo back now. Play him up front. The Danish twat has stated AGAIN that he wants to move in January, after he'd seemed to have come to his senses and promised to work hard, focus on Arsenal, blah, blah. We should sell him to Liverpool as part of a deal for old Bitey I think. Or to Utd for Rooney.

Play him "until he drops" has been Wenger's MO in recent seasons so I wouldn't be surprised if that happens ...play him against Marseille tomorrow but absolutely nothing wrong with giving him a break vs Cardiff & Hull. There's plenty game time left in the season for all to share. Remember how jaded Cazorla looked at the end of last season?

With Theo upfront we have to change the way we play. We tried that last season and it didn't work very well because we continued to play the same way. Giroud holds the ball up well, fights for everything in the air which even if he doesn't get to causes the opposition CBs to panic. He's become a real old-fashioned CF with a touch of class added. The closest we have to that in the squad is sadly TGSTEL. Let him advertise himself against Cardiff & Hull and then he can f.ck off in January. Hell, if he plays well Wenger might even be able to convince another team to pay us money for him - bonus!

After those two games we have a pretty tough stretch of games coming so it's as good a time to rest a few stars...

Everton (H), Napoli (A), Man City (A), Chelsea (H), West Ham (A), Newcastle (A)

Not looking convincing? They beat the team 2-0 that we lost to at home.

Will have to say that the Saints have become a very good team and are difficult to beat. I honestly think that Pochettino needs to get another goalkeeper in. Boruc is an excellent shot stopper but he just has to much circus antics and I think he needs to be replaced. Also I don't think the penalty was soft, Fonte nearly swopped shirts with Mertesacker before the game was over.

I totally agree with you. As you said, we looked fairly comfortable without being at our best and it's the perfect comeback after the United setback.

City and Chelsea are definitely a threat, but I think you're being a bit hard on United, they are slowly catching up to the rest.

Boruc has made two errors in two games, i dont think he cost us the match on the weekend, but he cost us points against stoke.
Still, he has made some excellent saves recently. That penalty was a penalty as written in the rules, but shirt pulling (which he did in a minor way) is extremely common (watch what happens during corners, its ridiculous). Yes, he should have known better being the more experienced of our defenders, but I still have to think its a little harsh.

Saints lack that quick one touch running off the ball game, which the top flight teams have. Arsenal have lovely partnerships as did City against tottenham. It makes penetrating a tough defense so much easier when you are moving the ball quickly and have multiple runners off it. Once we get that, we will be able to compete properly at top flight.

Anyways, glad united had a draw (so we are still above em :) )

i think the ref awarded it because Mertesacker had realistic chance of getting the ball

Giroud, what a beast, an almost complete CF. his hold up and link up play is phenomenal. I think he made more defensive headers than the 2 centre backs combined :)

Last one I can remember like that was Vidic a couple of years ago. The refs are so inconsistent.

The shirt pulling that happens from corners are mostly off the ball and the refs let that slide since its normally from both sides. (defense and attack). This case it looked like Per was going for the ball and was pulled back.

I've only seen it once, but if you manage to hold back a 1.98m German then it's not a light little tug. :D

and it's driving me absolutely mad this season. So many decisions giving incorrectly and it's costing teams points in a major way.
