We seem to lack belief against these bigger teams when last season it was the opposite.

Yeah, it's a strange thing, football: last season we were **** scared and lacked confidence against the "smaller" teams, but went at it against the tops ones. This season, we're tearing the lower ones apart and, like today, are capitulating against the really big ones. I think it's given us a false sense of security tbh - we beat smaller teams like Norwich and Liverpool convincingly, but came unstuck against both Manchesters. I knew this period was going to be tough but really? 6-3?! Before this week, we'd conceded 1 goal in 6 games. Now we've conceded 8 in our last two - SIX of those in one game. Added to the fact that our attack, as awesome as it is, just can't put the ball in the back of the net, we're going to find the Chel$ki game very difficult (they're winning now, too - Jesus H. Christ! Even Torres scored!). We definitely need to strengthen in January. We have an incredible team, but there lies the problem: it's just a team, not a squad. We need serious firepower and we need to tie down Backy, who didn't have a bad game today (after Wednesday, I never want to see Jenkinson again).

I dunno what it is, but today just didn't feel right. It's like like we almost didn't want to play, like we didn't want to win. I would've been happy if we'd played for a draw, but we didn't even manage that. I was hoping we'd get three points out of these three games (Evertone, City and Chelsea): we've got one so far! :D

Strange, but I watched the ball go into the opposition net 5 times today, 3 times proper and twice on "offsides"

We were 2nd best no doubt, but the ref and linesman made some awful calls. It could have and probably should have been 6-6. But it could have also been 8-something :( Giving the ball away cheaply in midfield cost us dear

Oh well. We will beat Chelsea at home though, so all will be forgotten :)

Looks like the Gooners are out then :p

Fancy being the underdog, less pressure.

Was decided on away goals last season, maybe we can cause an upset.

Taking into account our last few season's Champ league knock-out games, this normally goes one of two ways.

1) We furk up the first game and then do just enough to restore some pride in the second leg, but just fall short of actually qualifying.

2) We have a strong show in the first leg and look to be grabbing an advantage only to totally emplode in the second leg and get dumped out.

first game at Emirates? My advice is don't concede at Emirates. This gives you a much better base in the second leg to get somethign.

I might get shot for suggesting this, but I'm thinking we should start with Bendtner against Chelsea. Just change it up a bit. Giroud looks worn out.

Bendtner is so bad, that he could actually do well.

Like when a joke is so lame, it's actually funny.

Should've rested Giroud and one or two other key players (read: Özil) for the games against Hull and Cardiff. We need a result vs. Chelsea imo :(

I'm of the mind that on current form, it's not going to matter wether we play Giroud or Bendtner. Giroud seems to be in a bit of a funk. We need to change things up upfront.

Just two weeks then we can make that £50m move for Suarez
