Nice too see Podolski back. For the first time in a while we've got a almost fit squad, yet Wenger doesn't make subs (unless forced) and does very little rotation. Don't understand the thinking behind this.

Nothing against Giroud, but I'm a bit tired of watching him miss chances, time for Wenger to show us Bendtner missing chances. Just change it up a bit for the next game. Nice assist by Giroud though, but I think he needs to get a rest. Giroud been playing without any competition for his place, never a healthy thing.

I got flamed for making a comment like this on another forum. Wenger has to make changes, he runs players into the ground, case in point was Ramsey yesterday.

Therefore the real question remains would he have brought Podolski on if weren't for the Ramsey injury? I think yes, but in the
85th minute...

Flamini > Artheta atm, he needs to start imo.

I agree with the Flamini point as well. Arteta is passed it, he can't keep up with the faster players, that's why he tackles early and commits unnecessary fouls.

Think Carzola is getting back to his best, just love watching him play.

Another point, Ozil is not the £50M player I thought he would be, I wasn't even excited when we signed him because that's not what we needed, but oh well. I'd take Cazorla over him any day of the week, coz when Santi has an off day, you at least see him with the ball trying to do something.

Yeah, I didn't agree with his statement either, but thanks for confirming the stat.

That was a premier league stat, at that stage, across all competitions we hadn't scored in 2 of 6 games and hadn't won in the last 4.

It was goals in 4 games, 3 of them in the drubbing at City and to be fair, we didn't look like scoring yesterday until we brought on Podolski. He made a big difference yesterday. Giroud seems to not be reading the game as well as he was at the beginning of the season - he hasn't scored for a month now.

Great result though yesterday, was awesome to have Podolski back.

I think we will see some changes this week, pretty sure Jack will start v Newcastle as well as Flamini. Arteta plays cos he brings more options going forward and very often moves players wide, but I think with Koscienly out we need the extra cover in front of the defense. Pretty sure even without the injury we would have seen some changes, he often makes changes 65th min or so when we are losing.

Ozil has potential, he is still adjusting to the English game though. He needs a bit of a breather i think.

Had a bit of a laugh yesterday when I heard the fans (assume Arsenal ones) chanting Adriaaan (Rocky Balboa accent) at the West Ham keeper.

I hope Wenger plays Santi in his favoured AM position more often. Him moving there when Poldi came on effectively won the game for us. Re: the Özil comment, I also expected a lot more from him. He almost seems out of place a lot of the time. He has this "wtf am I doing here?" look on his face, maybe wishing he was playing behind Ronaldo again (there were a couple of balls yesterday that he would've caught up to and possibly scored, but Giroud was just too slow, or not switched on for. Can't possibly compare the two, I know, but it affects Özil I'm sure). New players in the EPL are weird when it comes to adjusting: Santi took to it instantly, BFG is only shining now, so hopefully Özil will be the player we signed from Madrid sooner rather than later.

Ozil probably isn't used to playing without a midseason break.

Key passes (chances created) Ozil : 45

Ramsey: 26
Carzola: 22

Not disputing the stats. But how many of those 45 have actually amounted to anything? Not nearly enough. My point is I don't think we'll see the best of Özil without immense quality playing in front of him. And Giroud isn't that player unfortunately.

Should be better with Podolski and Walcott playing more regularly.

Nice to see Giroud on the score sheet. You could just see how much that meant to him.

Wenger and his all out defense in the last 10min nearly gave me a heart attack. Not disputing the tactic, but not good for the nerves.

"Top of the log at new year" trophy in the bag.

Now for the "Top of the log, end of May" trophy. :D
