Well played Arsenal, Spurs struggled coming to the emirates with 2 upfront. Spurs looked a little tired, guess their game against united was quite tough, and Sherwood didn't rotate. Sucks to see Theo get injured, also think he might get a bit of a suspension for gesturing the score line. Even with 10, Spurs didn't look too convincing in trying to break us down.

Looks like Giroud should be back for the next game, Gnabry can play on the right, Santi was amazing, good to see Mesut back as well. Podolski got to warm the bench too. Starting to feel confident about this squad depth, we need to go on a bit of a winning streak over the next few games in the league, as February and March are jam-packed with tough fixtures. Its going to be very testing on our squad. Would be great if we could bring in a striker to supplement Giroud and Bendtner, though TGSTEL should be back for the Feb/March run of games.

According to the mirror, we're going to try and meet the £32mil release clause for Costa.

Is there a release clause? I read somewhere that Atletico won't let him go, regardless what fee is payed...

That Madrid youngster on loan looks like an exciting prospect, but I rather have a more experienced campaigner. Chelsea are going to have to offload Demba Ba, Torres or Eto'o when their sign a big star, hopefully we can grab Liverpool's Number 9 on the cheap. Eto'o wouldn't be bad either.

Apparently he only gestured after the Spuds started throwing things at him. Good on him! :D

If the FA charges him then they're full of sh|t. Nothing wrong with a little bit of harmless banter. It's certainly no Adebayor at City vs Arsenal.

Agreed, it's just a bit of friendly banter.

Oh, and this is what Sp*rs fans threw at Theo:

It's also the apparent value of Soldado.

Glad that Giroud got injured right now, just when the transfer window opens.

We gave Liverpool a top of the table Christmas gift but now back to normal place on top. Wilshire can fill in as a striker or let's get a top top striker to help with the injury. Hope Wenger makes a personal call to Benzema. Berba won't be a bad fill-in for this season.

You really expect Wenger to go buy a striker when we beat Sp*rs without one. If I know Wenger he is going to take yesterday's result as evidence he doesn't need to reinforce.

Yeah, he usually pulls **** like that. ALTHOUGH, he has no idea what the extent of Theo's injury is, so he may still have to buy. So it's Giroud on his own again until further notice (turns out he was just ill in bed, not injured, and should be available for the next league game).

Also: we drew Coventry at home next round. Not going to call it just yet - we WERE knocked out by Blackburn last season.

Wenger said in his press conference "I am waiting to see now who walks out there and knocks at the door, waiting to come in. Honestly, do we find better than the players that we have got?" Which is a fair point, there aren't too many available strikers at the moment.

My preference is we pick up a solid player on loan to provide some cover and if we can get a more permanent player in in july, possibly from one of the big teams that dont make champions league, like a disgruntled rooney :p

Looked at the highlights again and Theo could have put Carzola in twice in the same whay Gnabry did for the first goal. Pitty about Theo being out. He's added a lot to our attack since his return.

Gnabry looked very good, could have scored himself.

Rosicky on the score sheet is always nice to see, love the energy he plays with.

Why was Vermaelen subbed?

Let's see what Wenger does in the Window.

^ this sadly sounds about right. But if Wenger is waiting for someone to "knock at the door", me thinks Rooney must be pondering sending off a sneaky "please-call-me" this morning :D

Yeah, was really good to see Rosicky score.

Awesome :)
And what about the coin tossing thugs?

"The FA has contacted both Arsenal and Tottenham to seek their observations in relation to objects being thrown from both a home and away section of the crowd at different times during Saturday's FA Cup tie," read an FA statement. "The FA condemns any such acts and will liaise with both clubs and the Metropolitan police to identify those responsible and support the strongest sanctions available, including life bans."
