Guys, hands up who is glad Puyol isn't playing next week so we don't have to see at that ugly mug of his?

*hand up*

/thumb down
Puyol is a chop... and often commits costly errors. He's a + for the opposition if nothing else.
If you looking for Barca's weakest link, look no further than their long haired (Frodo look alike) captain:D

Yes. From your fanboy comments here, I did expect that. When I hear "greatest ever" and "legend" and and and... should i not expect anything less?

Ahem. Lets look back a few days...

He couldn't even make a fool out of the back 3 and a make shift defender (Song) playing in the back. I'm shaking.

Funny how the footy sites give him such a high rating on the night.

Messi: 8 - Won't go down as one of his masterclass nights but still lit up the Emirates with some dazzling runs, passes and quick thinking where for once he didn't score.

Messi was superb against Arsenal. His passing and the way he helped out in midfield was fantastic.

Messi played well, but i think we also did quite well to keep him quiet. twice he had the ball outside the box and made a run towards the box (first half) Song tried to bring him down. 99% of players would have taken the free kick, but this okes balance is ridiculous (i guess his low center of gravity helps) and he just kept on going. Got lots of respect for him, didnt go to ground a couple of times when most players would have. Lost a lot of respect for Busquets tho, he should be playing Italian football, what a cry baby. Well played barca, truly dominated us till Theo came on and changed the game.

To be really honest. I dont think Theo changed the game. I think Barca thought they can relax and play around with Arsenal after Ibra scored the second. When Theo scored it pushed the Arsenal foward and Barca was content with that, and thought they could pick Arsenal off on the counter attack.

Barca was on the back foot and failed to close down Arsenal like they did for 65 mins. Good on Arsenal for showing some fight. I still dont think it was a penalty on Cesc tho. Puyol doesnt make a challenge, if he stuck his foot out I would have understood, but it is clear that Cesc stuck his leg between a standing Puyol.

But with that said, it was given and I need to move on.

I agree on Busquets, he was the reason Theo scored that goal.

All that article says is that Maxwell was caught out. If the score was 0 - 0 I seriously doubt Barca would have allow Theo so much space. I guess we will see on Tuesday if Theo's pace will cause Barca trouble on the right flank.

I am of course dissapointed with the result BUT I am extremely glad Barca played Arsenal off the park for most of the game, im sure most EPL fanboys jaws must have dropped in amazement at the style and intensity the Blaugrana showed. I have being saying for a long time and only up until last seasons CL final did people give this team the respect they deserved.

That is another reason why I wanted Manchester United in this round of the CL cos many believe that is was a once off in the final.

Not insulting the Arsenal or its supporters, but lets not make any excuses, this Barca side literally beat the mighty Arsenal to a pulp. It must have been embarassing to be Arsenal in the first 60 mins of the game.

Snore.

Ya ya, you should tell your team a game lasts 90 min and not 60. End of the match teams could not be separated so stop going around saying how much you slaughtered us, because well you didn't. You dominated possession and territory for a good chunk of the game, but that means f all when it comes to securing a result. Trust me, us gooners know. End of the tie, the teams could not be separated in score.

It says alot when your man of the match is your keeper.

Shot after shot, wave after wave. Arsenal were taught a footballing lesson. If you are honest, you would agree. The most one sided draw in the CL this season.

You can trust me, Barca will make sure they remember the next game is 90 mins long.

Arsenal today did to wolves what Barca did to Arsenal. Difference today was, Arsenal managed 1 goal very late on... Everyone will no doubt tell you that the wolves keeper was man of the match, but it means nothing as they didnt get a point. The result has kept arsenals title aspirations alive. What they now need to do is bounce back against Barca and make them pay for all those missed chances. That would be awesome. Hopefully theo can deliver some nice balls into Bendtner, and without Puyol and Pique hopefully he can run riots :p

Not too worried about Puyol and Pique.

Milito and Marquez will step in without any problems.

Big boost was that Abidal played a full 90 mins tonight and looked superb! I would put him on Theo duty on Tuesday.

it would be amazing for Arsenal to get victory at Camp Nou to shup a certain some1 on these forums up:rolleyes:

Dude, if Arsenal were to win (and I agree with it being a seriously long shot), you'd get told why Barcelona lost, but were the better team, then Puyol, Pique, Toure are out etc etc... Good luck with the barrage of posts here if Barca get knocked out.

yeah it will be extremely difficult - if they manage a positive result - it will be miracle of the bloody season - but odds heavily against it and very unlikely :

Players Out : Fabregas , Song, Gallas, Rosicky - 50:50 - has a niggle, Sol also has a strain.

Arsenal squad to face Barcelona:

Manuel Almunia
Lukasz Fabianski
Nicklas Bendtner
Eduardo
Abou Diaby
Samir Nasri
Denilson
Fran Merida
Theo Walcott
Craig Eastmond
Tomas Rosicky
Armand Traore
Emmanuel Eboue
Gael Clichy
Bacary Sagna
Thomas Vermaelen
Sol Campbell
Mikael Silvestre

So they should line-up

Manuel Almunia

Sagna, Vermaelen, Campbell(Silvestre), Clichy

Rosicky(Eboue), Denilson, Diaby

Walcott, Bendtner, Nasri

Hmmm. Its a tough one. I am not too keen on Nasri playing out there on the left, we need him in Cesc's role. I'd swop Eboue for Nasri, but Eboue hasn't been too effective on the left hand side. So Rosicky is the next best bet, but he played 95 minutes on Saturday and if history is anything to go by, he will then be benched tonight. We miss Shava big time.

Should be a good game. I feel we've done ourselves proud already with the comeback at the Emirates. Confidence in the squad should be high following our win against Wolves, so who knows what will happen tonight.

ye, eboue is ineffective down the left - i don't see Carlos Vela in the squad there. Has he picked up another knock? That kid could really do with a decent run of games

7 Defenders.
7 Midfielders.
2 Strikers.

I think we can see already where Wenger's mind is. We not going to win the possession game so lets clog the midfield and defence and play on the counter with Walcott down the right. Diaby needs to pull his weight tonight, we can't afford him to give away the ball cheaply like he did at the Emirates.

Which Keeper will arrive tonight I wonder... Manuel "Messi Who?" Almunia, or Manuel "I think I dun skored an Own Goal" Almunia? If its the later, I may have an early one tonight.
