Lets not forget Alex Song, who in my opinion, has been the most improved player this season and quite possibly the Arsenal player of the season. I wonder how things would have transpired had he played at the Nou Camp. He marked Messi out of the game at the Emirates. He should be back soon, but we have really missed him in the last few crucial games.

Song was poor at the Emirates. He contributed to the first goal Zlatan scored. He dissapeared when he was suppose to help the back 4. Song never marked Messi out of the game.

Messi played in a different role, he never played in the same position he did a week later in the Camp Nou.

Yeah don't get beaten by relegation strugglers over.......

As much of a joke Arsenal were yesterday, lets not forget a certain Liverpool being beaten by ALREADY relegated Portsmouth earlier this season.

Summin about stones and glass houses?

Nobody played well yesterday apart from Walcot and he to only played well in the first half. Wenger must bring out the cheque book. BTW Eduardo's day's are numbered.

That may be so but Arsenal had/has a chance of winning the League, Liverpool were out of the running quite a while ago. So Arsenal still shouldn't really be throwing games away (3 goals in 10minutes).

i think we are beyond pointing to the shortcomings of other teams - at the end of the day, we shot ourselves in the foot and are fighting to stay 3rd, when we should be contesting for the title. disastrous performances all round - we should really look at ourselves as a team now - and by that i mean the manager and his staff need to realise we lack the depth and quality to challenge realistically. it's not all doom and gloom as we had some great moments, but if our next best is the likes of silvestre and fabianski then we're not going to get much more than what we have already.

something someone sent to me regarding the possible expansion of the emirates stadium

"The stadium can be expanded and will, it is only a matter of time. This was a pre-required specification of the design to allow it to be future-proof. It was originally designed to be an 80,000 seater stadium with a retractable roof, but because of Islington council objection and time to build as well as cost, it is now at 60,000 capacity. Let us be honest, it is a good jump in size from 38,000 as Highbury was.

The area around the pitch can be utilised for seating if needed and would provide up to 5,000 more seats. For new stadium regulations, this area is required to be free of seating however. This is a good thing as stadiums that will be selected for the 2018 World Cup have to adhere to this rule, eg Wembly as another stadium.

Regarding expanding the stadium, there are a few simple ways this can be done. Emirates Stadium is a four-tiered design, simply adding an extra tier(just like the overlapping tier between the first and second tier) will add the capacity required or simply to keep adding steps to the original stadium as it is, ie increase the steps from the back row.

There are approximately 1,000 seats in the last row of the stadium. If you take an extra 10 steps, then that would be 10,000 seats. Another factor to look at is the height of the stadium. Rules in building it were it had to be of a maximum height, which it is below now anyway as the stadium was built below ground level.

Getting back to the maximum capacity, it would take 40 steps to add 40,000 seats (This is a conservative estimate) and bring the total capacity to over 100,000.

The roof will need to be removed and a new roof replacing it, but as you can see it is not a nightmare architectually speaking."

need to spend at least 40-50 mil. thats a good 3-5 players depending on the quality you bring in. I see on sky sports arsenal are interested in Joe Hart, 8 mil pounds. I would take hart in a hartbeat :)p) over any of our current useless "keepers"

I wonder if City would sell to someone in direct competition with them...

Shopping list:
1 right back - to replace eboue
2 decent centre backs
2 goal keepers -
1 holding midfield player - sorry but besides a few good weeks of brilliance diaby and denilson are crap, they have the talent and the skill but dont have the work rate to play that position at a club like arsenal, they've both cost us numerous games this season due to pure pure laziness... if only eastmond was ready for the role
1 striker

:D
do it Arsene

Naming names of people who are available are a waste of time, you know Wenger wont sign them, he will surprise us with awesome players no one has ever heard of.. Like with Sagna and Verm ;)
