Was watching rugby show on Kyknet last night, they reckon John Smit pleaded to get back on the field to rally the troops, reminds me of the game in the world cup when Fiji had us under pressure and he got everyone together under the posts!

Well we'll agree to disagree, I feel there are scrummies out there that worked a lot harder than januarie and deserve a chance, but to each his own

Fair.
When someone is injured they will get a chance for sure, and they are all up for the challenge I bet.

Gothan, Januarie is a very effective runner from the loose and he spoils well, give the guy an oppertunity, all the venom for him has swelled up at selection prior to the game, and based on a few minutes on the field when the team had already gone to sleep.
A bit targetted don't you think.
What you say above is that Januarie can't defend, can't break the line, and can't control the game at all???
A bit pathetic when you look at his pedigree.

Devill I agree, sure, Fourie is our best and probably the best in the world, my point is that even so he does really dawdle sometimes at the base and a fast ball would be for sure a better option. This is often discussed in post game analysis. Even the best players make bad decisions at times.

We are blessed with the pool of players to select from, more so than any other rugby playing nation so debate around team selection will always be vigorous in SA.

It is not targetted - he is just plain fat and useless. And to try the racist card as an argument - pathetic. Simply put, his whole selection is racist - he is the quota player. The rest are there on merit.

All the bull about him being an 'in your face' player are rubbish. The Lions scrummie had him for lunch and there was still enough left to have a green and gold jersey wobble like a jelly.

what just grinds my gears is PDV now calling "racism" on the critism given to january.... that seems a bit unfair? if fourie played that badly, we would have called it as well?

Jip. We are long past that point where we care what colour the player is... Habana is a favourite and "the Beast" is amongst the most loved players in the bok team... Is it racist to think they are good?

FFS the spectators don't care if it is 15 chinese guys in bok jerseys as long as its the best team.

That the excuse for him being dropped from the Stormers starting 15 as well?

**yawn**
Hardly a strong argument m8
Considering the Stormers performance in the Super 14, perhaps the 'dropped players' (injury or otherwise) and the bench would've been a more considered team. ;)

Burger in, Brossouw on the bench.
Another fetcher Chilliboy on the bench, ousting prop Gurthro Steenkamp, John to focus on 3, Januarie out of the 22.
So Ruan will backup Fourie if needed.

No other obvious changes.

Nice to see them having John appliy himself to the nr 3 spot.

Glad Brussouw was kept in the 22 and not chucked.

Bye-bye Januarie :D

I would've preferred Brussouw to start, he was awesome last week.
We now have 3 dedicated fetchers, 2 on the bench, sees rather odd but perhaps that could up the intensity if tied right?

If Fourie gets injuried, we will have Morne Steyn at 10 and Ruan at 9, or Morne Steyn coing on for Ruan at 10, nothing wrong with that.

Only two dedicated fetchers as far as I can see in that 22.

Brussouw and Schalk. Who is the 3rd one?

I reckon Juan should have been dropped to the bench ... he was anonymous. Imagine having Brussouw and Schalk on at the same time = Awesome!

Hmmm, I don't have a wiggly, it's been so long ............. I'd say most spots in Morningside should be cool. Maybe Jack Rabbits (if they still exsit) or a spot in Florida Road.
