I noticed that lock Nathan Hines has been cited for a dangerous tackle on Wilhelm Steenkamp. I can't recall this tackle. (Maybe I can also upload those screenshots )

but

I personally thought there was some borderline shoulder charges and swinging arms from Jean Deysel, and found it strange that the touchies did not notice any of them.

Wasn't that against ireland when john got told to talk tohis players then called a huddle and the ref let the irish take the penalty quickly right after he got every SA player into the huddle

Yip Yip. Definitely Ireland.

I also thought the ball didnt go over, me and my brother replayed the kick and looked at it very slowly and the ball was infront off both posts. That tells me it isnt over except if the posts are from glass

Your screenshots shows that it didnt go over... The ball goes over the blue of the outside pole... Your taking the picture at the wrong pole... The outside pole, the left one if you look from were De Waal is standing... It passes just where the blue and white meet at the top...

Thanks for the effort, but can you post one where both poles are visible.

Another nice find:
http://www.sarugby.com/news/News/article/sid=11736.html

Earl Rose has received praise for his part in the Emerging Springboks’ 13-all draw with the British & Irish Lions on Tuesday night.
Rose started the midweek match at Newlands at flyhalf and, despite atrocious conditions, enjoyed a satisfactory first half. However, the 25-year-old came unstuck in the second half, making a number of errors and missing a regulation penalty, which would’ve closed the deficit to one.

During the match, former Springbok-cum-commentator Bobby Skinstad sang Rose’s praises and former Bok captain Naas Botha, in his analysis of the first forty at half time, also credited the youngster for good decision-making and execution.

Emerging Springbok coach Dick Muir and captain Dewald Potgieter both agreed that Rose proved he’s ready to play at the next level.

Muir was pleased with the way Rose adapted to the horrid conditions. "Earl is the type of player that likes the expansive game and he showed that he can vary it a little bit," Muir said.

"He is also quite versatile, to be able to adapt to the fullback position, you know, the positional game he played at the end," Muir added.

Potgieter was equally impressed and grateful for Rose’s performance. The Bulls loose forward explained why Rose was entrusted with the No 10 jersey and goal-kicking duties despite a dreadful Super 14 campaign.

"We backed Earl as our first choice flyhalf. The guys at the top wanted to see what Earl can do and I think he did a very good job under the circumstances. I wanted to show some trust and faith in that guy [Rose]," Potgieter said.

Prompted with the question why he gave the final touchline conversion to De Waal, Potgieter said it was agreed upon by De Waal and Rose.

“Also, if you look at the position of the kick, it favoured the guy with the left boot [De Waal] and when they told me [about their decision] I was happy with it.

"The guy [De Waal] wanted to take the kick and I'll back him 10 out of 10 times."Willem slotting that kick just shows what a class act he is, coming off the bench and pulling off that kick says a lot about the guy."

I obviously wasn't watching the same game... WTF?

NO!!

The pictures are from behind the poles. De Waal was kicking from the left of the pictures.

Picture 1 - This is the post closest to De Waal. The ball goes in front of the post (From the view of De Waal). From our view it goes behind the pole.

Picture 2 - This is the second post and the one furthest from De Waal. You can see on this picture that the ball lost height and is coming down. The ball goes behind that post (From the view of De Waal). And from our view it goes in front.

Picture 3 - Just shows the very next frame to prove the ball went behind the post.

As soon as I can figure out how to edit and reduce the size of the clips from my DVD Recorder I will upload the 5 second clip so that you can see for yourself.
But I am willing to put a R5000 bet on the fact that it went over. Any takers?

Hay for once can us south africans not pull on the shortest end? :p :D

The B&I lions lock has been banned for 1 week.

+1. Thanks for the shots :)

I agree with Muir, Rose did have a good first half but is a player not suppose to be good for the whole time he is on the field?

I really doubt if he will do well at the top level atm...

Maybe its too early for me, but your not making sense with regards to the pictures...

1) Which view is this, is this from behind the stands or from the main stand?
2) Picture 3 shows that the ball did in fact not go over as it is impossible for it to be in front of the blue of the pole (closest to the main stand)

FROM BEHIND THE POSTS (Where the touch judges are standing.)

P1030224_1024x768_.JPG
Left upright the ball passes infront of the post. (Behind the posts from a touch judge point of view.)

P1030227_1024x768_.JPG
Right upright the ball passes behind the post. (Infront of the post from a touch judge's point of view.)

P1030230_1024x768_.JPG
Right upright. Same as previous shot just 0.5 secs later.

Clearly the kick went over.

It was over. Logic dictates that if it went infront of one upright and behind the other upright, the ball passed between them.

1. The shots are from behind the posts at a slight angle.
the ball is traveling this way on the photo's ---------->>>>>>

Look at picture 1 and the ball passes in front of the first post then look at picture 2 and 3 which is 1 second later after the ball traveled between the two posts.
Picture 2 and 3 are the two frames where the ball passes behind the 2nd post.

Picture 1 ---------->> Picture 2 -->> Picture 3

Picture 3 was taken two nano seconds after picture 2.

I am sure those 3 post will help you understand that the kick really was over :)
