As long as the harsh call is consistently applied then no problem.

But then rugby will become a non-contact sport for moffies!

I'm neither a Bakkies nor a Bulls fan, but I feel he has been very harshly treated this time.

Can't believe the Bakkies ban is upheld, even the Kiwis on Reunion are gobsmacked.
Thats how you clean out at the ruck!!!

Anyway, can't wait to see the game tomorrow.

Well. I have to watch from home now. Had 3 tickets and was going with my brother and a friend. Had to sponsor the ticket to another(very happy) friend.
My fiancee is very sick in bed and I can't leave her alone that long.
And the temp is dropping rapidly in Gauteng.

Oh well. At least I got to watch the important one at Loftus where we cliched the series.

GO BOKKE. Make it 3-0.

The biggest problem is if it IS consistently applied! How can you possibly play rugby without clearing out the rucks and mauls!?! Do you all stand around bargaining when a player goes to ground with the ball? Clearing out is part and parcel of the game!

+1, ridiculous to start policing the clean out now... that's the frigging problem with rugby these days, the rules get changed far too often and although the rules are specific their application and how they blown differs from ref to ref.. Find it very frustrating...

The rules are specific but their interpretation and application is ambiguous..

OK.... humble pie time..... I think I may have got caught up in the media frenzy about Pieter De Villiers' comments about rugby, ballet etc. I had previously not heard the comments but only read them. I just heard them now in the build up to the 3rd test, and he speaks sense! It just goes to show how things can be said out of context!

Listen to the full interview yourself, like I did for the first time, before judging him. Yes, he did get frustrated with the press at a later stage but the British press are famous for hounding people!
