" The Torres odyssey is finally over".

Thank God.

Torres was already declining when he moved from LP. He wasn't scoring and was unhappy at Antfield (pun intended...); that is why he wanted to move. Why no one saw the warning signs is unbeknown...

Dammit Helg, I didn't see your post for some reason. Will comment on it when I have a chance.

EDIT: You know, after thinking a bit and finding some time, I don't need to say much really. Torres' problems were somewhere between our views on him, to be honest. He was poor, injuries ruined him, and it was exacerbated by how completely different Chelsea's style of play was. He changed in an attempt to fit in, but the damage had already been done.

It's a shame, really- he could have been fantastic for us. But the gamble taken was too high. He will always be part of some pretty special memories- that goal vs Barca first and foremost- but ultimately, he will always be the symbol of why buying players for non-footballing reasons is the worst idea imaginable.

There was an excellent article done on Torres just after he joined Milan, which discusses the same points we did:

I'll check it out.

Remy.
Plus, there's at least a full week left before the next game.

Edit: How nice it is to know we actually have cover in that position? Been way too long!

Decent cover at that.

Hopefully Costa's injury is not related to the one that plagued him towards the end of last season. Was hoping that he would have worked it out by now.

But, after Cesc's Twitter post the other day, I have a lot of faith in the club's medical staff to sort it out.

I think we have one of the best medical staff in club football, we hardly get injuries and when we do they're normally returning ahead of schedule.
