Hopefully we continue our good start to the season tonight. Our record against Schalke is pretty imperious: P:4 W:3 D:1 L:0 GF:8 GA:0.

Done and dusted - Chelsea have the squad and firepower now as well. The defense is an issue...dont know much about Shalke's attack, but trust Chelsea to score more

They've got a very good attack- Draxler, Sidney Sam, Huntelaar and the injured Farfan (who out of all, is the most dangerous IMO). injuries have just hampered their season immensely, and tonight comes too soon for them to pick up their game.

I thought it was a great game. Preparation for the (even) tougher teams. It would be a shame for every match to win by a 2/3 goal margin. This gives Mourinho more to work with than 5 relentless wins against premier league opposition.

Let's not forget that Schalke are ranked 8th in the UEFA coeff, so they aren't a slch by any means. They also have some quality players and are on their way to becoming a regular Dortmund (coz realistically, no one will be able to compete with Bayern in Germany... that's simply not possible).

I loved the game, roll on the weekend.

You were right again - I thought Chelsea would romp it with Costa. Didnt watch the game, but seemed like Costa was missing and Drogs didnt quite manage

Drogba missed some absolute sitters, which cost us the three points. Otherwise, we played well, and controlled the game from start to finish. It was a good game, just disappointing to walk away from it with one point.

Hopefully it is a wake up call to ensure that no complacency sets in. I agree with smokey that sometimes you need results like this to remind you that no game is easy, and with City on Sunday, the timing is pretty good.

Still, I think Mourinho got it wrong by starting Drogba over Remy. But I guess he needed to put him into a tough game to build his match fitness.

Chelsea was lucky with their goal... Fàbregas fouled Max Meyer in the buildup to his goal... he didn't even touch the ball

but he did miss a couple of sitters there after

I went to bed after the first 5 minutes of the second half - so missed the rest of the action, looking at the highlights now Cesc's foul was in Schalke's own half where Chelsea had guys back to defend, the foul on Meyer was in a much more advantageous for Chelsea. Perhaps the ref atoned for the mistake?

That said the game was unusual for Jose... complete attacking football, defence was almost non existent - Chelsea should have won it if their finishing was a lot more clinical but same could have been said about Schalke...

This season the PL is more important to me than even the CL so I'm not too worried tbh.

Nah we had much better chances than Schalke, we controlled the game throughout. If Remy or Costa started we would've won.
